Kansas Raffers: Ever heard of these guys?
So, I got a forwarded email late Friday from a guy claiming to be part of ArchAngelRECON out of Wichita, saying that group's drones may be the ones that have been spotted flying patterns over northeast Colorado and western Nebraska for the past month. You can read the story here. The source, Michael Spicer, claims he has a home in Durango, Colo., which I agreed to use because he feared that if we said he was from Wichita he'd have UFO enthusiasts "climbing in my basement windows again."
I cannot find any reference to this group anywhere on the innerwebs and the only Michael Spicer I find in Kansas is the manager of the community theater in Salina. Does this ring a bell to anybody out there? |

They've got a youtube channel. I know nothing about them, though.

You got me. It looks like a few Michael Spicers have lived here in Wichita. (Disturbingly, one used to live just a couple of blocks from the moose lodge. Apparently it isn't bad enough that our humble neighborhood has to deal with the occasional drug murder and meth lab explosion.)
BTW: nice portrait of the author at the end of the article. |

Looking for a contact
Hey, all. I'm the editor of the Wauneta Breeze, a small weekly in Wauneta, Nebraska. We're in the drone zone and I'm working on a story about this letter you're talking about.
I can't seem to find anything out about either the group or the guy who signed the letter. And it's setting off my finely tuned reporter's crap detector . I'm really thinking it's bogus, especially because of certain things he said and the tone in which he said them. If any of you find out anything more about this, or manage to find the guy or the group, please send me an email (should be in my profile). Thanks in advance. |

The OP is a Reporter also. Try reaching out to him by PM.
@Anacanapuna someone's here trying to get the scoop on you. |

Yeah, we've moved on from the drones because they've moved on from us. More important stuff going on. We never really did anything with it except that one story and, unfortunately, my BS meter was in the shop that day. We took our punches, licked our wounds and went about our business.
The semi-official theory around here now is that they were aliens looking for intelligent life, didn't find any, and left. |

Aliens?
I tried soooo hard to get the sheriff to say that, but he just wouldn't. Do you have any contact info for either the organization or the guy who signed the letter?
Reading that thing, it really smells like the Bigfoot guy I interviewed once. |

Incidentally, from what I can tell that YouTube channel is about a video game with a similar name.
