Omelets! I don't eat sweet breakfast that much. Except recently I was craving blueberry pancakes, and I found this recipe for the floofiest pancakes EVAH!

PBM: Sweet or savory breakfast?

Often a bit of both sweet and savory in breakfast.

Yes, it's been freakishly warm where I am; but it isn't today.

PBM, if you had a male dog neutered within the last ten years, how long did the vet. want them to stay in a cone? and did you leave it on that long?

Unlikely, especially at my age. I have a severe fear of heights but would probably be OK once I jumped: My acrophobia is more a fear of jumping or slipping. Once the fall was inevitable I'd be left with just ordinary fears, like forgetting the rip-cord, broken limbs or crushed skull.

A great many! But the one that's been rankling me lately is the misuse, in online articles, of "lead" as the past tense of that verb. "Lead" pronounced 'lehd' is Pb (atomic number 82 on your periodic table), not a past tense indicative; that would be "led." I see that at least once a day (granted, I read a lot) and it makes me clench my jaw, usually just figuratively but occasionally literally. It's an open question how much of that is clumsy AI and how much is just professional writers/editors being very bad at their jobs.

PBM, should I try to get a part-time WFH gig proofreading/editing so that annoyances like this can at least be remunerative?

[does some arithmetic] 38 years old, in a month or so. Bought some really nice shoes that I absolutely couldn't afford for a high-school dance, and they've only been worn for weddings and funerals (and maybe a few other high-school dances?) since 1985.

I have a very tall plastic glass with the Texans logo on one side, and Coca-Cola on the other. It was probably a stadium cup or something, but it's hard plastic, not flimsy. I've had it for years. It holds about a quart. Of crushed ice! I'm an annoying ice eater. :crunch, crunch, crunch:

I bet my brother 10 (or was it 15?) bucks that he wouldn't be able to finish a run of a video game he's not the best at without dying.

He played extremely well and got 10 (or 15) bucks richer that night.

In high school my brother and his friend started up a football pool. I didn't follow sports and just guessed on each match. I won three weeks in a row based on dumb luck and then the pool disbanded. People thought it was rigged because one of the guys' brother kept winning. I don't gamble as an adult.

It's kind of hard to go against that most fundamental of pizza toppings, pepperoni.

But mushrooms are the most popular choice at any pizza party, because they are fun guys to have at a party.

Transitional seasons are the best. Around here, at least, summer is dangerously (and quite unpleasantly) hot & humid and winter is too damn icy.

Well, I do now, does that count?

PBM, if forced to choose, would you prefer to spend the rest of your life magically transformed to permanently become either: A) three feet (~1m) taller than you are now, or B) three feet (~1m) shorter than you are now? Assume that this magic keeps proportions identical when altering size, and we'll have your entire current wardrobe go along for the ride, why not. (Yes, stolen adapted from one of Kimmel's ridiculous questions. And Lewis Carroll, obvsly.)

Hint-O-Mint Newman-O’s. Mostly organic, 100% of profits to charity to help kids, and man oh man are they yummy. Like an Oreo and a Thin Mint went down by the fire, . The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp (just a stone's throw down the road from me) is hoping to be fully rebuilt and reopened this spring after last winter's fire [just one building involved but it was a major one], and just announced their brand-new CEO as of Wednesday last. Exciting times.

[P.S.: If you like a marinara with some ooomph, try the one that's literally Newman's Own: Sockarooni -- Paul Newman's own personal recipe that he made at home for decades, but in a jar. Good stuff, man. "Peppers, spices and the whole shebang!" ]

With most flavor-differentiated candy, I eat the least desirable first, and save the best for last! Starburst is definitely a good example. First red, then pink (sorry pink Starburst lovers), then yellow and orange for last! I like them both about the same. I am most certainly a citrus flavor lover over say, cherry, or blue raspberry. Perhaps its my adult tastebuds, but I've always somewhat liked the citrus over everything else!

For Skittles, it's purple and red, then yellow, then orange, then green are my favorites as far as that particular candy is concerned!

PBM, what is a flavor you tend to avoid?

"Sweet" as in anything syruppy, sacharinny, sticky sweet--turns my stomach. Don't get me wrong, I'll have a little chocolate every now and then, but anything like coffee syrups, caramel toppings, or overly-processed artificial stuff. . . nope. Unprocessed maple syrup? Only on pancakes.

I'm okay with sweet unless you're talking about southern-style sweet tea - that stuff makes my teeth hurt. The flavors I avoid are mostly bitter ones. I can't stand coffee and even my favorite hot tea needs to have some honey to be palatable.
