Omelets! I don't eat sweet breakfast that much. Except recently I was craving blueberry pancakes, and I found this recipe for the floofiest pancakes EVAH!
PBM: Sweet or savory breakfast? |
#5102
Often a bit of both sweet and savory in breakfast.
Yes, it's been freakishly warm where I am; but it isn't today. PBM, if you had a male dog neutered within the last ten years, how long did the vet. want them to stay in a cone? and did you leave it on that long? |
#5103
I have not, but if I did I would totally post pictures of him wearing his cone of shame so that everyone can say daaawwww poor puppers!
PBM, Would you take a ride in a fighter jet? |
#5104
If the ride was short, and if we didn't do any flipty-doos, fuck yeah!!
PBM, would you/have you been skydiving? |
#5105
Unlikely, especially at my age. I have a severe fear of heights but would probably be OK once I jumped: My acrophobia is more a fear of jumping or slipping. Once the fall was inevitable I'd be left with just ordinary fears, like forgetting the rip-cord, broken limbs or crushed skull.
PBM: Do you have any phobias? |
#5107
I'm claustrophobic. Can't even stand the thought of running into a clauster.
PBM do you have any pet peeves? |
#5108
A great many! But the one that's been rankling me lately is the misuse, in online articles, of "lead" as the past tense of that verb. "Lead" pronounced 'lehd' is Pb (atomic number 82 on your periodic table), not a past tense indicative; that would be "led." I see that at least once a day (granted, I read a lot) and it makes me clench my jaw, usually just figuratively but occasionally literally. It's an open question how much of that is clumsy AI and how much is just professional writers/editors being very bad at their jobs.
PBM, should I try to get a part-time WFH gig proofreading/editing so that annoyances like this can at least be remunerative? |
#5109

Yes
PBM: You red a lot? |
#5110

Rarely, these days. Although I did manage to fall asleep in a floating inner tube and sunburn my armpits a couple years ago. Never do that.
PBM, Would you snort a giant rail of neural dust? |
#5111
No. None of my ailments are in the list that it's used to treat.
PBM, would I get high if I snorted the cannabis dust in the bottom of this jar? |
#5112
That's an oregano jar, so for the last time, no.
PBM how much proverbial shit do you have to shovel this week? |

None

[does some arithmetic] 38 years old, in a month or so. Bought some really nice shoes that I absolutely couldn't afford for a high-school dance, and they've only been worn for weddings and funerals (and maybe a few other high-school dances?) since 1985.
PBM, what's your favorite specific, individual drinking vessel (cup, mug, glass, whatever)? |
#5116
I have a very tall plastic glass with the Texans logo on one side, and Coca-Cola on the other. It was probably a stadium cup or something, but it's hard plastic, not flimsy. I've had it for years. It holds about a quart. Of crushed ice! I'm an annoying ice eater. :crunch, crunch, crunch:
PBM, are you an annoying ice eater? |
#5117
While the ice on the road is sure annoying I wouldn't eat it, it's kinda disgusting.
PBM have you done your taxes yet? |
#5118
To the extent that I "do my taxes," yup.
PBM, should someone start a new pool about when/how various offenders will be indicted in the Georgia 2020 election et sequelae probe? (I gotta figure some perjury charges are coming, and maybe even a RICO prosecution.) |
#5119
Yes, someone should! I await the outcome(s) eagerly. I have a $10 bet riding on anyone, anywhere indicting the PAB.
PDM, what's the last thing you actually bet on? Did you win? |
#5120

I bet my brother 10 (or was it 15?) bucks that he wouldn't be able to finish a run of a video game he's not the best at without dying.
He played extremely well and got 10 (or 15) bucks richer that night. PBM, your best gambling story, if you have one? |
#5121
In high school my brother and his friend started up a football pool. I didn't follow sports and just guessed on each match. I won three weeks in a row based on dumb luck and then the pool disbanded. People thought it was rigged because one of the guys' brother kept winning. I don't gamble as an adult.
PBM what is your favorite TV show right now? |
#5122

I guess Ghosts.
PBM: What is your favorite pizza topping? |
#5123

Canadian bacon and pineapple!
PBM: what is the square root of -1? |
#5125

My math teacher from high school. I remember her saying, "I is the square root of negative one." I didn't correct her grammar because she wasn't an English teacher.

Hey PBM with an iPad, how the heck do you close apps in the latest iPad Pro? |
#5129
On mine you can get the app switcher by pressing the home button twice, then swipe up on the app previews to close them. You may also get the app switcher by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to the middle but I’m not sure about your model
PBM, do you like the shoulder seasons of spring/autumn or summer/winter best? |
#5130
Transitional seasons are the best. Around here, at least, summer is dangerously (and quite unpleasantly) hot & humid and winter is too damn icy.
PBM, would you be willing to give Ashton Kutcher's at-home coffee order (black, with just a tiny splash of OJ -- not very much, because "it can get all kinds of wrong real fast," or words to that effect) a try? |
#5131

If it was that or get covered in honey and hungry bees... Tough call man, tough call.
PBM, Well how should I be doing it then? |
#5132

Olives, mushrooms, onions! One can be substituted for bacon, ham or chicken sometimes.

#5136

Giardiniera, the kind that is labeled as "Chicago Hot Mix." But chili dogs are also pretty great.
PBM what's your favorite ice cream topping? (sauteed mushrooms and onions do count.) |
#5137

Moar ice cream, of course!

Hint-O-Mint Newman-O’s. Mostly organic, 100% of profits to charity to help kids, and man oh man are they yummy. Like an Oreo and a Thin Mint went down by the fire,

I don't eat them one at a time! 3 or 4, and it doesn't matter what color - they all taste the same. Starburst, however - must be orange!
PBM, do you have a color-first candy? |
#5144
With most flavor-differentiated candy, I eat the least desirable first, and save the best for last!
![]() For Skittles, it's purple and red, then yellow, then orange, then green are my favorites as far as that particular candy is concerned! PBM, what is a flavor you tend to avoid? |
#5145

"Sweet" as in anything syruppy, sacharinny, sticky sweet--turns my stomach. Don't get me wrong, I'll have a little chocolate every now and then, but anything like coffee syrups, caramel toppings, or overly-processed artificial stuff. . . nope. Unprocessed maple syrup? Only on pancakes.
Tripler PBM: Same question. |
#5146

I'm okay with sweet unless you're talking about southern-style sweet tea - that stuff makes my teeth hurt. The flavors I avoid are mostly bitter ones. I can't stand coffee and even my favorite hot tea needs to have some honey to be palatable.
PBM - What's your go to candy / candy bar if you're standing in the checkout line and just have to have a little something you probably shouldn't? |
#5147

I never do that, but it would be a Snickers or maybe a Peanut Butter Cup.

Bugs. Mickey is annoying.
PBM What is the best children's cartoon [tv series] of the 21st Century so far? With a kid I have watched them all, and the quality of writing for kids tv is way better than it was when I was a kid. I think my favorite is Phineas and Ferb. Last edited by Mr. Plumbean; 10th March 2023 at 06:43 AM. |
