The government of Isreal is the other half. While Hamas is a terrorist group which takes terrible action to remove Isreal from Palenstine. Isreal is an acknowledged government that takes terrible action to eliminate Palestine.

A bunch of Europeans and a few Zionists decided to take Palestine from its residents rather than leaving a free Palestine to develop without British, Euro-American, or Ottoman rule. This never goes well.

Also your history is wrong on this. They have no more or less rights to the land than many others. They deserve a place to live and prosper also, but they don't have some special rights to this region over another. Look deeper into the Palestinians history.

I’m having a hard time blaming anybody but Hamas for the coming shit show. Hamas attacked Israel in such a way they knew damn well Israel would respond with overwhelming force. What reason did Hamas have for kick starting a major battle with Israel? Did they think Israel would pack up and leave?

Even the American people are supporting Israel’s right to defend Israeli citizens. The US would do no less if Cuba attacked Florida.

I’m not forecasting Armageddon, but it appears a real possibility that our assets are about to get involved.

My opinion remains, f**k Hamas, they clearly brought this to their doorstep and have chosen to hide behind innocent civilians now that they are getting their noses bloodied.

The Gazans have a point - Israel has treated them like crap. I (almost) get why Israel has the blockade - it keeps weapons out; it also keeps out goods that the Palestinians could use for a better life. Israel limits their movements, reneges on treaties and deals, and in general treats them like lesser human beings. Israel has not treated the denizens of the Gaza Strip well.

That being said, the attack by Hamas was disgusting and terrorism. And, I'll say again what I said in the other thread:

The Nation of Palestine did not exist in 1948. It was created in 1988. What civilian killing wars are you talking about? The UN created Israel, not European racists.

They've been doing so for literally decades, using classic colonialist methods to steal the land and drive them into smaller and smaller territories. The fact that they haven't decided to outright genocide the entire population on the spot doesn't change that. That's likely coming, though.

Israel won the territory around the Gaza Strip fair and square during the Arab-Israeli war - a war which Israel didn’t start but most definitely finished. The boundaries were set during the 1949 Israeli-Egypt armistice. Israel took control of the Strip after the 6 day war - another war that Israel didn’t start but most definitely finished. After the 1994 Oslo Accords, Israel transferred ownership of the Strip back to the Palestinian Authority. So Israel actually had full control of Gaza and then gave it back. So much for “colonialism”.

Since then, Muslim militants have used Gaza as a launching point for an almost uncountable number of terrorist attacks aimed pretty much exclusively at civilians. Under Sharon, Israel actually pulled out all Israeli civilians who were living in Gaza. There’s been no Jewish presence in Gaza since 2007, and the borders of the Strip remain unchanged from what they were in 1949. All this talk of “colonialism” is horse shit. Israel doesn’t want Gaza. We know this because they had it, chose to give it back, and then abandoned it. You don’t get much less “colonial” than that.

The bottom line is that Israel wants Hamas to leave them alone. Hamas wants every Jew in the Middle East driven into the sea. All the punitive measures Israel employs against Gaza are taken in response to the endless bloodlust of the Gazans who, lest we forget, chose to be led by Hamas, and who still broadly support Hamas and their homicidal tactics.

The project of creating a Jewish homeland was started long before the holocaust, because sadly something like the holocaust happening wasn't all that impossible to forsee.
