Most of the fun with this is doing the research: going through Google images looking for old WWII or Soviet posters, then adapting them by altering and adding text or images. Technically it's trivially easy, at least if you use Paint, so all you need is a good idea: if I can do it, anybody can. The "Panama Rules" one I did probably involved the most work, and it's just this anti-crime poster with a bit of the text altered and the image changed slightly:
