If not iTunes then can something open source do this (shit that annoys me about iTunes)

Arg.. Itunes...

I like how its generally user friendly.. I 've also never really had it mess with any of my file names or whatever that people say it does wrong.. As a music player, great.

Actually, as what I use it most for, podcasts, its pretty much awesome too.

But there's just a few things that make me go... Really?!? Why... oh why.. isn't this fixed by now?

Like many people I have a dedicated desktop computer that's the main PC. I also have a netbook and an iPod.

I don't want to stream the music over to the netbook (though, from what I hear, that's possible). I just want to have all my podcasts all in sync. Several podcasts on the PC (and therefore, my iPod) are listed as "Keep the last three episodes" or whatever.

What if I want to listen to them on my netbook?

Well, shit out of luck for syncing. Gotta put my podcast subscriptions on the netbook and then click play.. then realize after a short time (some of these podcasts sound very similar for the first minute or two and I only listen to them once every couple weeks or so) that "ah, damn.. Already heard this one"....

Why not allow me to just say "oh yeah, that computer over there that's connected to this network, all these FREE podcasts, just link up the library with them (or, if I only want some of the podcasts or a mix of some that the pc has and some other ones) and ones that are played.. well.. show them as played over on the netbook too.

Well, that's my main annoyance, there's a few other minor ones (more minor) I'll post some other time when its not so late..

All in all I think its a good player, but some of the issues that make me go seem like things any of their programmers could do on a lunch break.

Your things you wish iTunes could do?
