You might be referring to me, since I made a comment in huge font proclaiming that the dead kids were drinking too. That was wrong of me. I don't condone drunk driving, but ... I don't know. Yesterday was a bad day (personally) for me, and then I started reading that trash where it's like, "ZOMG, SOMEONE GOT DRUNK AND KIDS ARE DEAD!!!!" and I was so annoyed by the shocked behavior that something happened bad somewhere, I reacted in a way that didn't contribute anything. I realize that the posters here are largely former SDMB posters, and many post at both boards; somehow, though, I seem to really enjoy everyone here, while I am completely fed up with the pseudo-intellectual bullshit from people over there. If there were more discussion about TV shows and movies and the like here, I'd never go back to that fucking place.

I think that's a highly worthwhile goal. Cafe Society was really the only other forum (beside the Pit) that I used to read on a regular basis. I wish I could go in to our A&E and find threads on stuff I like, but I guess with fewer people, I just oughta take it upon myself to start more of those.

No, I was referring to the person (whose name escapes me and forgive me for not giving enough of a damn to go back and look) who was arguing that drunk drivers only cause damage when they actually hit something/one, so as long as they haven't hit anyone/thing (yet), they're a-okay, and that forbidding someone to drive while intoxicated is a violation of their precious personal freedom.
