Ha ha, she's just kidding dude! And you fell for it. Any such plan would be strictly against L&I regulations.

I'm only bitter because a) I don't like getting up early (last year we went down the night before) and b) I'd rather be a passenger and knit. It's a 4hr drive.
I'm kind of glad my boss is coming (he was traveling separately originally) because he can talk to his boss and they can ignore me if I'm lucky. They're good people, but boss's boss is. . . touchy. And very high up and not to be trifled with. When Coworker drove with boss's boss, she said he mostly worked and didn't chat, so I'm hoping I can put on some NPR podcasts and drive and he can work and everyone can be quiet and happy. |

We now have chickens. MsPuna wants to go agricultural in a big way now that she's going to retire in a month, and she's always wanted to raise chickens. So when our neighbor down the road decided to pull up stakes, we bought their homemade chicken coop and their three laying hens. We moved everything into place today and even got three eggs into the bargain. She's tickled to death. Of course, it means more work for moi, building a fence and a gate and stuff, but if it makes her happy it's more than worth it.

Will you start referring to yourself as a 'Gentleman Farmer'?

Don't you have to be a Gentleman for that?

I hear you, Solfy, I would so much rather be driven than drive.

Glazer, I am loving your dog - makes your posts more...something. wry, maybe ![]() Last edited by JackieLikesVariety; 28th February 2016 at 05:38 AM. |

I'm a driver. I've been riding with Jibes at work for the past few weeks. It's nice to read between jobs but I'd rather drive.
ETA: He's a very wry dog. |

Oh, but I am. Indeed, I may even technically qualify as "landed gentry" of the third estate; I own land, I have a classical liberal arts education, hold a position of leadership and authority in my company commensurate with that of a military officer, and am respected and influential in my community. In fact, our family's livestock brand, which continues to be registered with state government, might even serve as something of a family crest.
Yes, I rather like the idea of "gentleman farmer." All I need is a pair of Wellingtons and a tweed jacket. I imagine Colonel Plink rolling on the floor with laughter at this point. Last edited by Anacanapuna; 28th February 2016 at 08:46 AM. |

February Festivities (now with 3½% more sunlight!)
Normally I'd like to drive, but solo so I can crank some tunes and enjoy being in the zone without worrying about silent critiques of my driving habits.
But at least I have a fun rental car now. And I took a hot shower with full water pressure this morning so it's all good. |

I dug the garden and planted tomatoes this past weekend, yay! Now, if I can just keep the critters from eating everything I should have tomatoes all summer. |
