Yep. I, too, listened to Oldies and Classic Rock stations when I was a kid. I got good at telling the difference between Fifties and Early Sixties and Late Sixties and Seventies, too.

Of course, even that's a point of nostalgia, now: I remember the difference between Oldies and Classic Rock because I remember when there were Oldies stations. See, Oldies includes Fifties and Early Sixties, with groups like Dion and the Belmonts and The Five Satins and other doo-wop music. That stuff is gone now. It is pretty much impossible to find the non-mega-hit pre-Beatles music on terrestrial radio these days, at least in smaller markets, and likely in bigger ones, too, given how, you know, old and dead the relevant demographic would be these days.

It's all Classic Rock now, a format which includes Eighties Music at this point, which didn't used to be on the radio much at all when I was a kid. I don't mind that, but I do feel a bit of a twinge when I realize doo-wop has gone the way of Benny Goodman and Paul Whiteman, into the realm of Really Old Stuff Only Collectors Care About.

I, for one, also noticed that doo-wop and its contemporary (r+b and rock-ish) pop music has disappeared and I am glad, for nostalgic reasons of my own. In the late 70s and very early 80s the stations would play the Beatles - all of them, all the time. Then, Oldies happened and my mom listened to them almost exclusively for the rest of the decade, and they played freakin doo wop and other old oldies and early Beatles and I don't mind if I never hear that again for the rest of my life because it was in lieu of mid to late Beatles and other rock from the mid to late 60s, which thankfully started reappearing in the 90s.

I didn't have the money to buy the stuff myself and even if I did have control of the radio dial which I didn't my only other choices were 80s pop and, toward the late 80s, classic rock which at the time also didn't play much of the 60s classic rock canon, instead favoring 70s and early 80s stuff.

FWIW, I wasn't comparing Kelly to a kangaroo per se. Just like, "I don't give a shit if she's trans or not. She's still a fucking bitch." But I probably shouldn't have put it that way. She was a bitch -- not because she was trans. But because she was a bitch. She was probably a bitch before she officially transitioned.

I'm sure they had to put up with way too much bullshit in real life just for Kelly being trans, even without the added... complexity? of the baby and the living arrangements. I can sympathize with that.

However, on someplace like the Dope that tends to be more accepting of such things than the population at large, something along the lines of "Kelly was pre-op and still fertile at the time.
