Why would I intentionally ask to set myself up to be the alternate lynch target when things could have swung to me at any moment?
Why would I discourage power use on me when they wouldn't help town anyway? Scum-me with my powers would have WANTED as many powers coming his way, so as to reduce the chance of powers being directed at buddies to begin with.
