Question in regards to the possible cop claim…
If both the directors and villains target the person being protected by the town cop, is that player killed? That’s the only sticking point I got atm against the claim. Would it be best to claim? Maybe. But let’s make sure that we can keep the cop protected first before he or she claims. |

I'm assuming you mean Town Doc and not Town Cop, as the Cop can't protect. But yeah, good point.

Could just be over-enthusiastic Town wanting to get the game rolling. This. --- What Town wouldn't do is write up a whole multi-paragraph case on someone and then refer to their vote on them as a "placeholder". There's a glaring mismatch between the amount of work he's put in and his level of actual belief in the case. --- Or you know, it ... Could just be over-enthusiastic Town wanting to get the game rolling. Or, does my "glaring mismatch" not inform over-enthusiasm? Or, Should I have mentioned that it's "wine" fueled ? --- There's a glaring mismatch between the amount of work he's put in and his level of actual belief in the case. ABSOLUTELY SMACKS OF OPPORTUNISM. Or, to put it another way, quite seriously, What is the defense here? How does one define "" Amount of work "" ? And, to be exceedingly frank, isn't that a relative term, to a player, and their baseline efforts? --- But ok. Point taken. It's a weak case. Next time I should probably indicate as such and hedged, with forward looking language, like with "Placeholder" verbiage or similar. OMGUS ? Sure, but hell, it's not enthusiastic. I think that should move it up a few notches on the historied and time tested "Day 1 Vote rationale" scale. I also removed all hedging from the vote as well, because, well, apparently "No Take Backs" is in effect. FOS Mantis and Ladybug ... Not sure how far in the weeds here I want to go, but, at the very least, they share a connection to each other beyond "bugs". If that connection is also related to this immediate game, or real life, remains to be seen, but there is a _real_ reason behind the snuggling. Again, possibly game breaking here, but, If I am moving my vote off of Ladybug, I want / need this on record.

You seriously voted Sherlock because Watson is truly the brains behind the pair? That’s the reasoning you got behind. Unless you spell it out, that’s all I have to go on, well, in addition to your “ I've got a vote, and I'm going to use it.”
You can vote for all the reasons you like but when you call out three players as scummy but keep your - what I considered joke -vote on someone on whom you’re going back and forth, I have every right to question it, and would appreciate an answer, not a dodge. |

Apparently you do because youre getting pretty worked up about my answer, which was "No, it's there for a different purpose." But I think you know that.

Three votes on Sherlock [the third coming from Mendie for omgus reasons]
The first two appear frivolous, I'll wait to see if the voters return with substantial reasons for placing their votes. I'm not seeing obvious scum lean with Sherlock. Appears you know this player? (possible scum slip? I don't think it is) |

Small Update:
I am out of Town this Thursday, so Day 1 will run all the way until 8PM Eastern USA on Friday, August 13. This gives everyone a chance to participate and gives me time to come back online and make sure I'm ready for end of day. Please remember to use the vote counter and spell names right when you vote. Post #1 of this thread is updated with a countdown clock if there is any doubt of the time remaining. |

Even if Mendie and I were scum, there’s no scum talk during the Day so it would be impossible for me to know his real identity through any in-game mechanic: “Discussion with your team is only at Night.”, I simply recognize his unique posting style.
“(Possible scum slip? I don’t think it is)” - but maybe others will if it’s mentioned enough times? |

Have about an hour before work so don't expect much right now. I will be back.
Impressions: Bogatyr has posted a lot of IIoA but at a point where there was not really a lot to A. But I feel Bogatyr is holding something back. There were a couple of posts where I got that sense very strongly. A little FOS on the insects, Mantis for throwing out a no-vote-today on Ladybug based solely on sock user names, or could it be based on something else? At this point I can't say, but it pinged me. Ladybug's response also pinged a bit. We are playing with a deck of jokers here. Gotta confess I had to google a sizeable number of sock names. But little joke-phase digs re: usernames are NAI, and also should be disappearing around now. Or, soon. |

I see that Sherlock Holmes has three votes already. Seriously? I looked at the reasons. Those aren't reasons.
Hiro Protagonist--because of Watson. Okay, this looks like one of those early phase jokes pertaining to username. But it's still there 24 hours later? Dr. French--Just hopped right on. FOS on Dr. French. And then Mendie Taoma dealt in a third vote! Two of those are players I would like to push a bit. As an aside, the vote counter for d1 here is probably going to be a right mess, what with variant spellings of heroes' names, autocorrects (Mindy Tahoma, really?) Yes, it's your only tool. (Maybe.) Do you see anybody you like better yet? |
