We should arrange for a side game to see who can identify the most socks correctly.

I know, I’ve mentioned it myself, but with a number of people suggesting some sort of off-board communication despite the rules, I wonder if I’m being too literal and there actually was some sort of “Say Hi” or “Introduce yourselves” to your teammates allowed. Having the mod confirm zero scum chat would be helpful.

I mean, yes, there's a proposed trio of Ladybug/Mindy/Dr. French as Scum, but if it is, it's lucky guesswork as far as I can tell. I've never been much good at cage-rattling as a maneuver, so I've been reading along and looking for clues, but there's nothing substantial. Flash Fact: Scum lurk. Take a look at the last four games here on Giraffe. In each and every one, Scum can be found amongst the lowest posters. Therefore, my vote on Don Quixote. |

That’s your opinion, I can chase multiple avenues at the same time. I’m happy with my vote in Atticus, supported by his subsequent contributions, still think Steven Universe is a strong contender, and would be happy to see Buzz Lightyear launched too. And Doctor French, Harry, Elsa, maybe Clarice.

Is a producer less likely than town or villains to realize there are two scum teams?
Is a villain more likely than producers or town to forget who his/her enemies are? Or, is an ordinary townie who obviously didn't read the rules well enough just instinctively hunting the VILLIANS mentioned in the rules post? I can't see how any of these scenarios is more likely than the other. If I were an unbiased observer, I would consider it a null tell. Ladybug can't see an innocent explanation for it. Personally, I can't see the sinister explanation for it. People seem to be misreading the post as well as my follow-up post. When I said, "Game Over", I meant "Game Over for Scum". As in, "Game over, man! Pack it up!" I was not meaning to say, "That's the end of this game, our WINCON is met!". Ladybug asked about identifying the other scum team. At first, I was just like, "c'mon, do I have to find all the threats to town?" But then I thought, "Wait... "scum"? Are the producers actually "scum" or just a "threat to town". I did know that town needs to kill the purple produces as well as scum, but I didn't consider the producers "scum". I went back and reread the rules thread and still didn't see it. I thought to myself, "I see villains (obviously scum. it's right there in the name, plus they are red). Then I see "Producers". Yes, they are anti-town, but are we calling them "scum"? Is a 3PK "scum"? Is an additional faction "scum"? Anyway, I didn't think much of it. I just chalked it up to semantics, more and more people seemed to be reading more into it than that. I had to go back and re-read the rules thread again carefully just now to actually find where it says they are "scum". I must have glossed over rule #3... the first couple times. I just kept reading, "There are three teams..." and then skipping to the next rule. I get it, though. It's Day 1. Anything and everything looks scummy. I'll start packing my luggage and preparing for check-out time. Do I pay for parking at the font desk in the lobby or directly with the machine in the garage? Also, I can keep the slippers, right? |

I suppose the basic question for Atticus is why he deduced these three were the scum (Villain) team and not the other (Producers) team.

|

Mainly because they are red. Less mainly because they are called villains. In my head, that equated to "scum".

OK, let me rephrase my question, you suspected three people were operating in coordination, why would these three people be “scum” and not whatever you thought the other faction was?
|

And the answer is: because you already knew they were not Producers…

I would guess without looking (cause I'm too lazy to check facts) that scum could also be found amongst the highest posters and that scum could be found in the beer zone.

1) Game over for you! [you lose, or you're done, or your participation in this activity has ended, etc.], or 2) Game over for me! [I've lost, or I'm finished, etc.]. It's always a negative connotation to denote losing, leaving, or quitting. I can't think of a single time I've ever said it in a positive way such as, "The game has ended and we have won!". In that case, I would probably just say "Victory!" or something like that. ![]() YMMV |

Missed a quote. Bogatyr voted Doctor French with an invitation to talk, there was a brief exchange but I was expecting more.
The rest of my post is about Doctor French and the “interesting” comments, as they are the vote leader, I’d like to hear some sort of defense or explanation. |
