We would all benefit from recalling that JD Vance is the stunted fascist dipshit that he is because he is fundamentally afraid of a world where a hispanic man can do everything a white man can do, or a woman can say no to him with no fear of consequences. Trump doesn't believe in shit, but he preys upon the fears of white evangelicals and real estate agents that the world of the future will have more equality and less economic predation to get votes.

I'm having a hard time parsing most of that screed. It seems to be vaguely anti-oldwhitemaninpower? But I'm not sure. I'm just not up on the lingo of modern rage I suppose.

It's more antifascist than it is anti-oldwhitemaninpower, but it does realize that the reactionary forces of American fascism right now are mobilized by the fear that old white men will no longer represent the apex of power in our society and that they will have to treat women, gay, and trans people as equals. So instead the major project of American fascism is control of women, gay, and trans people to limit their visibility and power.

Bravery, in this case, is more easily found in women, gay, and trans people who challenge the dominant political power of society rather than in the fascists who seek to use the power of police, government, courts, and paramilitaries to force them back into closets and out of the halls of power.

I mean, one would want for 'Donald who Ducked the bullet' to be fine, well and healthy, so he could fair and square stand trial for many many shady things he did, right? No point in going blam-blam. We want real justice, not mobster shenanigans.

Ruzzia just sank even lower - now they Reuters Article sentenced (6.5 years !) a theatre stage director and a playwright for wrong think - like 'inciting terrorism' just because the play itself deals with the topic of Russian women involvement with Islamic men who do jihad things and all the complex tragic drama that ensues. Total absurdity. Creativity totally choked, don't you dare not to repeat the government spouted mantras in your works or even ask unallowed question - or you're a criminal. I guess the play analysis is too hard for weak putinist brain - they just get triggered by words, like automated bots.
If that is not 1984, I don't know what is. Let's hope Americans will not be forced to quote bible and the like in all their creative works or risk being labelled commie extremists or something like that with that on the horizon.

I'm cool with anything that means he can't harm this country any more than he already has.

I have no confidence at all that the US justice system will be able to impose any sort of meaningful punishment on him, given how many legal situations he's managed to slither his way out of already.

I realize that if his end is in any way suspicious, his minions will make him into a martyr, but none of them have his mix of warped charisma and trainwreck factor. With no one to rally around, I think the whole lot will just kind of fade back into the background where they came from.
