At least unless Caramillo has a career game tonight, I'll win my fantasy game.
Thanks. Looking good.

I'm 2-0 in Fantasy Football so far.

Wait..... Saints 2-0, LSU 3-0, high school team 3-0, Fantasy football 2-0, leading Pigskin pick'em. Something really bad is getting ready to happen.

My brush with disaster was narrowly averted with LSU's goal line stand against Mississippi State. However, Saints 3-0, LSU 4-0, High School team 4-0, Still Leading Pigskin Pickem', lost 2-1 Fantasy football.

Zeener already given up?

I figured he and Gumby just forgot. My fantasy team lost in the first week to the only team that I was worried about, then has kicked butt the last two weeks.

I can't believe that the Lions, Jaguars and Bengals all won. Also, my Raiders have once again disappointed me when it counted most. They had been looking so (comperatively) good this season too.

No, I did a boneheaded job of this week by forgetting to lock in my picks. I had two games not yet decided, and when I looked Sunday at the board I realized I never locked in my picks. Well, I'm still in the running...

All those other teams won, but not my Seachickens. And wtf is up with those uniforms? Bad enough the Ducks have their obsession with "Gang Green", and now I gotta look at that??? I wish they'd fire their marketing crew and just go back to the teal color they used to have.

I can believe it. The Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons are flat-out terrible, and in a contest between two terrible teams, either can win. It was Detroit's day. And while the Bengals aren't great...um, as it turns out, the Steelers aren't, either. They've got no running game, and Roethlisberger's not good enough by himself to carry an otherwise mediocre team on his back and drag them to victory the way John Elway used to do with no running game and fair-to-middlin' at best receivers back in the '80s.

Detroit wins. Why haven't we heard from tim? Reason enough to make an appearance here.

It's still early, only Week 3. Nothing is set yet.

Some early surprises: Jets are undefeated. Saints are 3-0. Both Favre and Vick lead their teams to victory (I had the Niners winning that game, not that it matters now). Meanwhile, Titans are 0-3. Early predictions had them leading their division. I guess no one told them that Peyton Manning had other ideas.

Not so surprising: KC, Tampa and St Louis are the league's whipping boys. And once again, the NFC West is looking to be the powder puffs of the NFL.

You're right. When I read the blurb in the sports page it talked about Vick and Eagle's winning. I guess Reid ain't quite sold on the dog-killer being his leading QB.

It'll be interesting whenever Vick steps on to the field in San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, or one of those less blue collar cities. Hopefully the people won't forget what he did.

And Doyle? I got a sweet offer from my cable company. I'll get ESPN, as well as TNT and the local Blazer channel for $14.99/month more. (Unfortunately it would take another $10 just to add the NFL Network, so I skipped that.)

"Less blue collar"? You haven't been to many stadiums, have you? That's all you get.

Granted, we're not like Philly or Jersey, but every time I've attended a Seahawks game (which hasn't been many, lately) there are plenty of shouters in the stands. They may limit beer sales and stop serving after halftime, but that doesn't seem to slow those boisterous folk one whit.

What the hell is going on with your cable company? Basic cable, how much and what do you get? I've never heard of ESPN or TNT not being part of basic cable.

I scaled waaaaay back after being laid off. I think I can swing another 15 bones per month (I'll be locked in for 6 mos).

I had the Limited Basic package: 18 channels, plus all the local HD channels. Now I have the Digital Starter package, which was the basic package before the Big Switch (to digital). Apparently some people can't get regular broadcast channels, even with the Box, so Comcast offered a cheap price to entice them.

The shock hasn't worn off yet. I'm 100 miles further north from Ground Zero than he is, and I only just came to my senses an hour ago. Figure he won't be able to sit up and take nourishment until Thursday afternoon at the earliest.

What's this about "locking" your picks? I checked the teams I'm picking to win and submitted my entry, is there something else I have to do to make it official? Sorry, first time in one of these things.

I didn't complete my list, so I didn't bother locking in my pics. I should have locked in those I chose and come back to finish my selection later, but I failed that too. If you pick half and don't lock in those, then none will count.

ETA: I'm making my picks now. If I get back to changing them, I will, but otherwise as long as they are checked I'm good.

OK, forget what I just posted. ^

You HAVE to submit your picks, or they will NOT count.

You can return before Sunday to make changes, as long as they are not LOCKED.

Doyle continues on his torrid pace. Leading Pigskin Pick'em, Saints 4-0, LSU 5-0, High School team 5-0. Well, fantasy football is falling apart, but who cares.

Doyle's in the lead, but it's early enough in the season that it's probably still anyone's game. The rundown:

1. Doyle - 45 pts
2. The Superhero 42 pts
3. NAF1138 - 40 pts
4. Who_me? - 36 pts
4. Zeener - 36 pts
5. Library Boy - 30 pts
6. BarbarianAtTheGate - 11 pts
7. Gumby - 9 pts

And of course, whatever changes in those scores are wrought by tonight's game. I'd love to see the Packers win this one, because fuck Brett Faveruh, but I picked the Vikings.

Seems to be my usual pattern: In other straight win/lose picks, I start out hot then dribble out the clock.

Untouchable? Really?!

He's ahead of me by three points going into week eight. How does a three-point lead before the halfway point make him untouchable?

I am making the call now and I stand by it. I have better than 55% accuracy predicting things I will have you know!

Doyle continues to lead, but Zeener is making his move and would be in the lead had he not forgotten to enter one week's predictions. But that's tough shit. Who...Me? still hanging around and The Supehero blows his chances by not entering last week's picks.

Blame Mrs H. I remembered to make my picks on the way home from church last Sunday, but my wife kept coming up with little stops that didn't get us home until after kickoff.
