I've been using Avira with no complaints other than their daily "Buy me" screen that pops up. I can live with that. The program is fast and doesn't interfere.
I was using Microsoft Security Essentials for the last 3 months or so, but it and Eudora got in a bad fight yesterday and I had to uninstall it and go back to Avira. MSE wanted to clean a virus out of my in.mbx file and Eudora didn't like that. Not sure who was at fault but I had to work around the problem somehow. FWIW MSE was fast trouble-free up until then.
