Interesting poem I found about TMC
The Last American Hero. R.I.P. He was a hero; thus, he tried to save the world. He wasn't a superhero; thus, he failed. The chance was lost. The freedom’s flag is furled. The grandsons of the brave became the quailed. A single inch could save, a single shot, When the entire nation lost its mind! If I believed in any kind of god, I would have said: “God hates the humankind.” Your life—the highest price that you could pay— Fell like a seed in wastelands dead and dry, But thanks for trying, Thomas, anyway, From all of us who did not even try. I mean it is kinda wrong, but still, what if? |

This clown, (according to the evidence that's been published so far) was just gunning for any prominent politician who presented themself as a target, for him to aggrandize himself for his own personal emotional reasons. Just like the previously named 3 losers. He was apparently just trying to be 'important' to people in his own personal life, for his own personal emotional reasons. He didn't give any more of a shit about the country than Trump, himself, does. From what I've seen so far, the people he was trying to impress... weren't. And wouldn't have been, even if he'd succeeded. They're just sad, just like they'd have been if he had succeeded, or just eaten the gun in his own basement, instead. The Trumpkin just happened to be the first target who presented himself locally in a way that didn't require any real work for TMC to have to expend to go after. As far as your 'what if' goes. It's basically just as much chaos as we'll already get, whether or not The Felonious Grifter wins or loses this election. The only difference would have been in the details of the chaos and violence that would have resulted, and just who and how, winds up dead. It won't make a damn bit of difference at all in the amount of chaos. At this point in history, the only difference TFG's living or dying makes is in the future details of the shit we're likely to have to live through. *Admittedly, Hinkley was only trying to feel important to Jody Foster, rather than important to History, like the other two. He just wanted to get laid by his movie-star crush, and thought he had a 'magic' way of actually achieving that goal. It wouldn't have worked, but what did he know? His delusions about that are exactly why he wound up in the 'nut-hatch' for decades, instead of prison... |

I think I agree with that. The kid was a nobody and he wanted to make his mark on history. I’m no psychiatrist, but the kid appears to lack any other reason for throwing his life away.
In other news, it appears Biden is going to be shoved aside. He stubbornly refuses to see the writing on the wall. I give him a week max. |

I mean, one would want for 'Donald who Ducked the bullet' to be fine, well and healthy, so he could fair and square stand trial for many many shady things he did, right? No point in going blam-blam. We want real justice, not mobster shenanigans.
Yeah, I guess same deal with Pootin - in case of sudden double-ass-in-nation all those types just will be replaced by some nondescript next in command, in Ruzzia, by another uniformed fsb ganglord (to spy, harrass and torture), and in the States by another friend of Big Corps'n'Churches (to steal and fool). on another note Ruzzia just sank even lower - now they Reuters Article sentenced (6.5 years !) a theatre stage director and a playwright for wrong think - like 'inciting terrorism' just because the play itself deals with the topic of Russian women involvement with Islamic men who do jihad things and all the complex tragic drama that ensues. Total absurdity. Creativity totally choked, don't you dare not to repeat the government spouted mantras in your works or even ask unallowed question - or you're a criminal. I guess the play analysis is too hard for weak putinist brain - they just get triggered by words, like automated bots. If that is not 1984, I don't know what is. Let's hope Americans will not be forced to quote bible and the like in all their creative works or risk being labelled commie extremists or something like that with that on the horizon. Unexpected Consequences. V 1.0
Judge Cannon ruled that (basically) trumpys MaL case was illegal as the Special counsel’s appointment was illegal. She left it quite broad in its reach finding that special counsel’s were not legal. SO… Hunter Biden has now filed to have his cases and conviction dismissed, as will undoubtedly all the other’s prosecuted by a special counsel. I think Cannon’s ass must be quite sore from her ruling biting her in that same ass so many times. Legal scholars predict a quick reversal of her ruling, which is already under appeal. |

The thing I hate most about The Great Trumpkin is what he's done to the American Flag. I just
He's managed to make the flag no longer represent the country I love. It now represents 'Trumpkin', and nothing more. If you see a US flag, proudly displayed around here, these days, you're seeing a 'Trumpkin'. Period. He's stolen my country, and the flag that used to represent it from me. If nothing else, that, alone, would be a damn good reason to hate the bastard. Last edited by C2H5OH; 20th July 2024 at 04:15 PM. |

Trumpy says Biden was the worst pres ever. Now it’s time to play the age/dementia card on trumpy. He’s the old fossil now.
Harris is picking up endorsements like crazy now. It’s looking like Kamala and possibly PA governor Shapiro for the VP spot? Still 4 weeks until the DNC so this will be interesting. It’s time to take the press attention back from trumpy. |

He was attorney general during the whole election fraud bullshit and I'd just LOVE to see him be able to counter those accusations on the national stage. Similarly, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear (a popular Democratic governor in a red state) would be succeeded by KY's Lt. Gov., Jacqueline Coleman, no questions asked; that's pretty much what a Lieutenant Governor is for. My 2¢: Mark Kelly needs to stay in the Senate, and we need to get Ruben Gallego to join him as the AZ Senate delegation; fortunately, Kari Lake's schtick is getting less and less traction as it ages less and less well. Think Joe Manchin could swallow his pride and run as Kamala's ticketmate rather than her competitor? That would put him closer to the Oval than ever and put him in line for a 2032 run, presumably; that may soon come to look like the best path to the presidency from his POV. I can't think of a more balanced ticket than Harris-Manchin: Woman of color from CA, on the progressive side of the Dem ideological spectrum and also a former prosecutor, teamed with a DINO white man from West Virginia who's a goddamned coal baron? The appeal is so broad it borders on hypocrisy. Last edited by mjmlabs; 22nd July 2024 at 02:41 PM. |

Yeah, Trump tells this particular lie often and never seems to experience any pushback on it. I did hear one time that the reference to the VA governor part has its basis in something he said when discussing the neonatal palliative care needed by some unfortunate newborns. I didn't look into it farther because what's the point.

Question, because civics was never my best subject in school. Is Shitgibbon stuck with Vance now that he's been Picked? Vance has already jammed both feet into his mouth, shown himself to be a waffler in that he's now on the ticket with an orange lard golem he once called "America's Hitler", and has only been in politics since 2022, where he hasn't accomplished much. On top of that he hasn't run so much as a lemonade stand on his own. Given the howling yam's age and flabbiness, he's got a good chance of carking it in office (whereas Biden is older but looks after his health). J Danforth Fucking Quayle was less unqualified than this guy.
Kamala Harris is gleefully going on the attack regarding his lack of experience and the double standards at play (white dude with no experience accepted without question; woman of color with loads of relevant experience catching hell) in order to undermine Shitzenpantzen's campaign. What are the odds they can replace Vance with someone experienced and scary, like Pence? |

Vance is too busy trying to backpedal his cat lady comment and hide his paper thin resume. Probably a net positive for the blue team when he’s coupled to the old white man in the race.
Also exciting is the change in the tempo for the blue team keeping the senate. Before Biden stepped aside, there was no positive energy for that happening, now it’s there (at least there is that energy in the news reports) the other good news is that congress clowns like MTG aren’t getting the ink they were before. All in all, I just feel a very positive excitement from what’s happening. That definitely wasn’t there before. |

the other thing I'd point out re: Vance is that Trump is completely unable to admit making a mistake, and replacing Vance would imply there was an error. This won't mean he wouldn't blame Vance for a defeat which he also wouldn't admit, but there you go. He'd be much more likely to attempt to force Vance to drop out, perhaps for the ever popular "to spend more time with his family" reasons.
also, to no particular surprise, the very things that make us shudder re: Vance are not necessarily disliked by Trump core voters. and Trump seems convinced that he will win with only them (a very unlikely belief). I'm still predicting though, outcomes possible: Trump secures sufficient electoral college votes to win - would need help from friendly state governments/courts to discard/disrupt voting Harris secures sufficient electoral college votes to win - Trump supporters will absolutely reject this outcome and launch assaults in courts, the House, the streets. I honestly believe that there are roughly same amount of voters who will vote Dem no matter what and voters who would vote Rep no matter what. Key is independents and swing voters who most likely will veer past Trump no matter who else is running, but would probably go Harris vs. Biden. the next factor is turn out. and therein will lie one major factor - how badly will certain states skew voting ability - we've already seen issues about casting votes in predominately Dem leaning areas. So, in any event, watch for Trump and his crowd to make a mockery of democracy. Make Democracy Safe Again, please. |

Anyway, enough of my qualifications, now to answers... First question, "Is Shitgibbon stuck with Vance now that he's been Picked?": Yes, because the VP candidate is separately nominated. He's stuck with Vance, because Vance was separately nominated. Unless Trump, or someone else, can convince Vance to drop out. Ever since the amendment changing the VP slot from the runner-up in the Electoral College to a separate vote for P & VP, they have been separately nominated at the conventions. Legally, they are separate candidates for separate offices. Ever since the amendment that separated the Electoral votes for the two offices, the parties have nominated the Presidential-nominee's choice for VP-nominee, but legally, they are two separate nominees to two separate offices, and once the nomination is done, the only way to dump a VP nominee is to convince him to withdraw, then nominate a new one. The only example I can recall is Eagleton, under McGovern (Democrats) in 1972 (ETA: He voluntarily withdrew, and another VP candidate got nominated. Sargent Shiver, but I don't know the details on how, and am not interested in reading about it, now. Maybe I'll look it up, tomorrow.). If the VP nominee wants to be an asshole about it and not withdraw, he can be, and a party wanting to withdraw their nomination is utterly unprecedented. FTR. I was nine years old when it all happened, and I don't remember any of that. My memory of presidential politics starts with Nixon and his resignation (which I didn't know why) and Ford becoming president. I was a pre-teen kid at the time, and only know about it from reading about the history, after the fact. I only know about the history from reading about it. But, yeah. Trump can't unilaterally dump Vance, at this point, unless he wants to walk into unprecedented territory. AND he won't be able to control any of that. He loves chaos, but he only loves chaos that he controls. He sure as shit WONT control that. Sure... Let him do that. Dump Vance, now. I'd LOVE to see him do that... Quote:
That first bit I answered, the answers were the best I could do. The stuff I was going to answer afterwards don't have an answer. There is no fucking addressable QUESTION in any of that section. That's where the shitgibbon walks into unprecedented territory. I have literally NOTHING I can say about any of that. But DAMN! I can get long-winded about things I studied, when you trip my triggers from my college years. That's probably why my PoliSci profs loved me. Last edited by C2H5OH; 29th July 2024 at 05:04 PM. Usually, running mates are selected to give some balance to the ticket (geographically, demographically, politically, or otherwise). I suppose one could make the argument that Vance was selected to nail down Ohio, but Trump already has Ohio in the bag. He didn't need Vance for that. The fact that Trump didn't balance the ticket ought to tell us something. He wanted the most amoral, boot-licking motherfucker he could find to go along with whatever #StopTheSteal & Operation Wetback 2.0 he's got in mind. He doesn't want a running mate who's going to puss out like Pence did. Point being, if Harris is declared president-elect either on election night or in the days that follow, he wants Vance to go along with the effort to steal the election from voters.
