I'm starting to wonder if spamforbrains is a sock of that woman who claimed that she picked up a wasp nest off the ground and took a bite out of it (I can't recall her name, but she was banned shortly after that post). They both have that off-center, robot-pretending-to-be-human quality.
Brovolone (which was much to cool of a username to be wasted on a nitwit like her.)

There was a troll a while back called Classy Lady something; I'm wondering if she's shitforbrains.

Yet another case of genuine durpitude that I initially took to be sarcasm. My eyes kept getting bigger reading this.

In answer to advantages and disadvantages of Touch ID:

In the Spirit of Scepticism

A revived thread on the Antikythera Mechanism shows dopers' admirably stubborn suspicion of foreign contrivances.

Well, quite. I took no special measures to hide who Your Great Darsh Face was other than steering clear of a few conversational tics, and given how many empty hours Idle Thoughts has to fill -- as we now know -- it was only a matter of time. And since it's the assumed ID, and not any evils you perpetrate under it, that gets you perma-banned, I'm willing to acknowledge that I lost the game.

I've said I won't be back, and I won't be. No point making a persistent nuisance of myself. Those that want to doubt me and spend their time trying to spot Malacandra socks over at the SDMB are welcome to their fun, but if they won't take my word for it in advance that it's a waste of time, that's their look-out.

So seeing the new posts in the bully thread (no, no link, been linked too many times in this thread, find it yourself you lazy bums), and seeing things like Nava say she was bullied by her mom and her toddler sister, I wonder how many respondents in that thread mistake normal human interaction, including good-natured joking, as bullying? I mean, we're talking about a group that has never seen a joke they couldn't be pedantic about, so I could easily see them mistake someone joking around with them as violent bullying.

It's been many, many years ago, but I remember reading a thread by some woman complaining about her in-laws and how they bullied her and it just made her livid, to the point of never wanting to interact with their sorry asses. Well, every description she gave just sounded like light teasing / joking / horsing around to try and include her, but it left her seething. I said nothing, but she got lots of support.

No, I don't think so. It wasn't anyone's name I remember. Might even have been the time when I used to fall for 'new poster join date' types and take them seriously. Why? Did you post something similar?

When I was pregnant I think I posted some pretty ragey messages about my in-laws. They were generally well received (in as much as people enjoy recreational outrage on behalf of someone they've never met) but that doesn't mean there weren't people reading and not responding that thought I was being a big baby about it all.

In retrospect I was probably overly sensitive about stuff, and they really had no idea what to do with me. We get along fine now.

I think I remember this, it was a known poster and my impression was that she did have self awareness about different styles of family interaction. Her point was that she disliked the way her in-laws continually ragged on each other and her and didn't want her kids growing up like that. Sad really.

I think I remember it too. IIRC, she was upset because her when her mother-in-law picked up the baby and she started crying, her aunt made a joke that the baby obviously didn't like her. (And it WAS a joke, since both of them started laughing.)

It's too vague to search for, though. Even with my search-fu. (If anyone else can, it'd be amusing to read)

Oh, thanks. Yeah, that family sounds weird, and except for pulling on the cat's tail (that's fucked up), if that's how they do things, and THEY don't mind it, I sense she's over reacting. But then, I wasn't a fan of Troppus.

Of course, I could be wrong. The whole situation sounds weird. (And as usual, you have Derpers saying, "LEAVE YOUR HUSBAND!!!")
