I remember Eddie Rabbit when he was an LA area DJ called The Rabbit. That was a long time ago.

We met the members of Southern Culture on the Skids in between sets at the Rams Head in Annapolis last year. They came out and just hung out with folks and couldn't have been nicer. Happy to talk about anything, have a beer, took plenty of photos.

Rick Miller is really tall.

I have met a ton of Industrial bands: Almost all of the members of KMFDM, Rammstein, And One, Covenant, Velvet Acid Christ, Haujobb. Mindless Faith are friends of mine. I've met Voltaire. I used to hang out with Roli Mossimann from the Swans.

I know Valentin Peytchinov who is a famous Opera singer. I've taken voice lessons with him. Very close friend. A basso profundo.

I used to know a drummer for Joan Jett named Jamie Norcross.

I've met David Peel.

I used to work in a recording studio and met any number of Def Jam artists. I met the Lordz of Brooklyn there.

I've met Tom Warrior from Appollyon Sun and Celtic Cross. (Metal)

I've met Adam X and Dan Physics from Sonic Groove. (Techno)

I have met so many musicians who are nominally famous in genres that I generally expect people to not really be aware of but who are actually quite famous in their milieu.

Oh yeah. I've had dinner at Peter's house. I forgot about that one.

Were they nice? Sascha Konietzko is cool, Raymond Watts is cool, from what I hear En Esch is kind of a dick. I've hung out around En Esch a couple of times and he sort of had the mark of the cock on him, but he never really was mean to me or anything.

I met all three of them and talked about the 80's tours; they were the nicest guys. They all signed a CD booklet from their first live album that I brought along just in case.

Also met....
Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) up at a local radio station.
Andy Summers (The Police) at a hotel restaurant in Houston.
Allan Holdsworth (fusion guitarist) at a bar across the street from the venue he was playing.
Had beers with Fairport Convention in that same bar.
Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes (The Buggles - Video Killed the radio Star) at a hotel in Binghamton, when they were part of YES.
Lou Reed - on a flight from Miami to New York. He was already seated in 1st class when I was going to my coach seat. Looked at him, said "Lou Reed?" He nods. I say "You're excellent!". He smiles and says "Thanks, man!" Greatest two-second encounter ever.

I can now add Iron and Wine to my list. They did a special station concert event for us. Polite, fun in a low-key way, I was a little swoony at getting the chance to meet Sam Beam but acquitted myself nicely.
