A grue is not a real thing, but I won't argue the point.
Adulty things I did today include getting my prescription and having to pay a steep co-pay, getting a Mother's Day card off in the mail, both emailing and speaking to the executor and general reality based entropy maintenance of a self-sustaining sort. I also had to deal with the handyman being a no show. I said morning, so I called Uber at noon and he missed a gig. *shrug* Still haven't heard from him, but we're square on work hours at least. |

I opened everything up to balance my checkbook and my ledger balance and the available balanced matched exactly. So I just checked off all the outstanding items and logged out. Nothing makes me feel adult like having the books in order. The rest of the checks I've been waiting for came in, and I have my new non-operator ID. I'm an official person again, hoorah! I just need to make it up to the bank again this week. But enough adulty-ness. I'm going to go find a zen room thread.

A grue is not real. Gruel is real. You may be eaten by gruel, if this evidence is anything to go by.
Warning the public about threats is adulting. |

Isn't gruel just porridge/oatmeal/Cream of Wheat/farina/etc.?

Looked it up. According to Wikipedia, it's made by boiling oatmeal or some other grain in water.

I'm playing with a budget, so after balancing the checkbook, I transferred from savings only what the annuity I want would pay. The goal this month is to not let the balance go below the reserve. The estate remains unsettled, and it is the sole fault of Nationwide.
So I adulted pretty well for a Saturday morning. |

It took two years to wrap up my mother's estate. Good luck with it Khampy it is a huge pain in the ass.

Thanks, old Bean.
I finally got news that the estate will settle soon after the first of the year. This morning, however it's money out for plumbing again. A leak under the kitchen sink, a new faucet and maybe remedial work for water damage. Means bucks, but I did a transfer from the house emergency account to cover howevermuch it might be. The plumber's arrival window is noon to six. I'll be home, of course. |

So this past week was a visit from the electrician. Lost power to the garage.
I found what could have been the culprit with a partially melted wire nut in a junction box, but could not tell how old it was. Sure enough, that was it. Had him rewire the junction and discussed rewiring the garage to support a small woodworking shop. We will see about that later. Between earlier plumbing repairs, an imminent deck replacement and now this, I'm keeping a lot of the trades employed! |

Don't forget about the glaziers. Maybe you should think about replacing a few of those fogged windows on the south side of the house.
