The clue was to confirm I got your N0 breadcrumb. Go reread your N0 post and find the breadcrumb, then think about my reference. Does it match your breadcrumb or not?

Guiri, while I feel you might be scum.... I think Gnarly is scum based off Day 1, and I'm putting my vote there

And all of you that are voting for me are idiots. If I was scum, the last damn thing I would do is come back and attempt to be more active. I think I tried that once as scum, and it failed miserably because I was forced back because everyone was voting for me..

Heh. I see someone tried to put me into a category... Not saying whether it's right or not because I'm not giving any more hints.

Zuma's play has been just what a Scum's might be. I find him a MUCH better Lynch than Mahaloth.

Of the six players "assigned" to my clique, I've seen positive confirmation from all except Zuma and possibly Mrs. McGinty. (I don't remember whether Mrs. McGinty has left a crumb or not, but I intend to investigate him toNight anyway.)

Was the above a name crumb? If so, I didn't get it.

As McGinty pointed out, Sister Coyote's first breadcrumb was toDay, so might derive from illicit knowledge, though I'm happy to give her the benefit of the doubt.

It's the Guiri clique that's more interesting. We've seen crumbs from everyone except chaos and giraffe I think. Giraffe claims to have crumbed:

Have any in the Guiri/Gnarly clique seen a breadcrumb from Giraffe? I do NOT particularly suspect Giraffe to be Scum, but would like a further hint as to why he thinks "boobs" is a good clue. (With all the clues already, it may be too late for anyone to be cleared providing a NEW crumb for the Guiri name.)

Are those voting Colby doing so because they're dissatisfied with his name crumb "Bruce"? If so, I suggest that Colby post a TINY bit more. (I only decoded the crumb by Googling.)

I've posted nothing that anyone's likely to figure out, regardless of whether they know our name. What I've done instead is to put in two really obvious non sequiturs (the one you quote and another a little while later), which will only make sense when I explain why I chose those exact words. I was minded to wait until our name is made public to give that explanation, but if we think we've got as much mileage as we're going to get from keeping our name secret, then I'd quite happily be the first to reveal.

I voted Colby for his 3 posts total, his opposition without argument to the name claim, and his either intentional obstruction of an investigation, complete lack of interest in the game (sore loser?), or need to false claim a result since he has no power. As for his defence, "scummy me wouldn't do that" is weak as hell.

Giraffe had another hint, explaining boobs as "double D's" which still means nothing to me so I'd suggest that he comes out and simply states his name.

As for others, only Gnarly has shown that he knows the name. Other players repeating the exact same hint without any other attempt to display their knowledge does not deserve any trust whatsoever - which is why I asked you about Lightfoot, repeating the exact same clue just means she found the clue, not that she understands it - but since I don't know your name, she may have given other unique hints...

Dizzy gave an early crumb (might be fluke but I think it was real). I think Maha knows the name by now. (This is all based on the 99% assumption that I've guessed your name ... which makes me think anyone knowing the name by now may have, like me, just deduced it from the clues.)

I applaud members of my clique who've demonstrated clear knowledge but not, I think, given the name away!

I'm sure Lightfoot knew the name when she posted her crumbs and apologize for exasperating her when slow-witted Swammi took a while to see them.

I'm fairly puzzled why you can't see my reference after my last post, but fine. My name is Rip. I had thought your N0 breadcrumb was the use of the word "dead" aka R.I.P. So I gave the coded reply boobs, which by itself means nothing, because I wanted to later be able show that I saw it at the time without giving gnarly the name before he could demonstrate some independent knowledge of it. The double d's of course refers to the only word in guiri's post with two d's, dead.

So there we are.

OK, I totally didn't get the double D reference but yes, my name is Rip, like R.I.P. Sorry for being slow. Now, why did your investigation fail??? Different surnames?

I would assume, or someone else also investigated you. Why are you so surprised? You seem oddly defensive about not coming up Town...

Well, I've been inclined to believe there are just a few Rips and we would assume we share the same surname. With just one investigation available to scum, I would not jump to the conclusion that they interfered with your one.

There are 6 Rip's? Guiri, Gnarly, Chaos, Giraffe, Dizzy, and Mahaloth. It does seem odd that we have only 3 Ito's and 6 Rip's.

Does anyone understand Colby's Bruce clue? I feel certain that he is scum trying to fake it.

Swammi and/or MrsMc, Now that I know Rip, I can evaluate that group on my own, but I need to rely on you two to evaluate your group. My notes show that Zuma has not left a clue. SisterCoyote left one only Today, and Lightfoot's clue(s) is a little iffy. Is that correct? And that you are pretty confident in Buff?

With Giraffe's early reveal that R was the initial letter, the name almost had to be RI?, RO?, or R?T. So few possibilities that one could review them in the light of these clues ...

Since two Scum isn't nearly enough in a Game this size, I think we can assume Scum knew a first name or two to start with.

I do get Colby's clue (I think) but would let him explain it.

AFAIK Zuma has left no clue; he should be Lynched toDay. Lightfoot's clue is NOT iffy. I'm 98.6% confident with the breadcrumbs Bufftabby has already left, but welcome her to leave another subtle crumb and remove any lingering doubt.

Does anyone else need me to spell it out?

I share the same first name as Guiri. I was originally breadcrumbing the DEAD to indicate that I saw Guiri's breadcrumb, and I understood it, and share it.

And VAN is part of the name of a famous one of my name.

Dizzy, Rip Van Winkle, it's clear. Did you only use "dead" as a hint? The only word in common between my N0 post and Gnarly's response? Or is there another reference to rip, tear, grave or other that I missed? My investigation of you failed last Night, scum cannot have interfered in both Giraffe's investigation of me and my investigation of you...

Lightfoot, which one, maybe two names are you referring to? Presumably not your own anymore.

posting because I did the research

first name clues-in order- Not counting " my name is short" or subtle clues
Day one

Texcat " 3 letters"

Bill "Ito"

swammi "I have an R" "R and no I-T-O"

guiri " R and one of I-T-O "

scathach "I don't have an R in my name"

giraffe "First letter R"

after the first claim of letters the echoes ( wih out supporting clues) could be suspect

this was started before the newer posts so is moot on some level I suppose

It might be interesting to someone- at some point

You said public knowledge, not only uttered. Unless I'm completely off the mark, your name is no longer a mystery based on the clues dropped. R without ITO, with no A?

I thought that the clues that had been left were obviously leading to a specific word and so your idea that your name was still a mystery was misguided, even if it hadn't been spelled out by anyone. I was wrong, so you're good. That ship hasn't sailed yet.

My investigation failed also. There had to be something else at play here...it is kind of game breaking for us all to have successful investigations when 6 of us have the same first name.

Maybe we have different last names.
Maybe scum can block all people with a first name xyz?
I don't know the answer to that

the rules seem pretty clear-and
since it appears we only have 3 or 4 first names it makes sense that we don't all have the same last name-- I guess I don't see the issue?

I would rather not move my vote to Zuma. I would rather die. Gives town less distractions.

Apparently I'm pulling a peeks this game

So what will it be? Tea or crumpets?

i think that you would benefit from reading D2 in full. you'll see why your vote is a waste. i actually think you're town.

that said, isn't anyone concerned about scum needing our or their first names? it seems pointless if the only use is so they can do a Day kill. a one for one doesn't make good strategy. perhaps knowing their first names unlocks powers. if that's the case, the emergence of two names might hurt us.

It could help them near the end of the game, possibly to sway the numbers into their favor?

Unless someone can tell me that they got your hint and have the same name as you, my vote is staying on you.
I sent in my order when I posted at Night

See this is what I mean- You should not know for certain what the name is- But you have seen a theme in the clues and left a piece of same-

So what stops another who is "passing" as knowing their name- could post ( in the case of my name) -- or has posted a clue like the others - without actual knowledge of their name?

You did say something earlier that led me to think that more than one clue would now be needed.- so maybe you are in he same mind set. the rest need to be too.

Also leaves the players that can not show where they have left any unique clues in a bit of a pickle now

This was my point, someone posting a clue on Day 2, or someone referencing a non-unique clue from Day/Night 1 earns no cred whatsoever. Clues were truly worthwhile on Day/Night 1 when they were unique and we were sure only Town knew their first names. Someone posting a clue on Day 2 has either worked out a clue through brute force, or has discovered a first name through some other manner - maybe a scum investigation result, why did they wait so long?

But here's the thing Guiri. While my clue may have not been "unique" on N1 when I joined the party, We weren't discussing that there were clues, and I was trying to handshake with you to get your attention.

Zuma and Colby are tied. I prefer the Colby lynch, but would be happy with a Zuma lynch. I'll move my vote as required tomorrow so that we don't end in a tie again.

Not voting: Visor, Chaos, Zuma, Scathach. Are you all waiting to try to create a tie again tomorrow?

Urgh. It seems that voting for and then with SisterCoyote has caused me to get ill too.

Eh? Is this meant to be reverse psychology or something?

It's probably irrelevant, but just for closure: When I saw Colby's "Bruce" clue I typed "RIP Bruce" into Google and learned that a very recent "R.I.P. Bruce Willis" hoax had attracted much attention on Facebook. I guessed that this was Colby's clue. Was it?

It was a short-lived hoax: as of just now, Bruce Willis is mentioned only once on the first page of "RIP Bruce" Google hits.

Day ends in about 4.5 hours? If there's no objection, I'm going to investigate Visor tonight.

Bleh sorry, so much for catching up :/ getting ready to go out drinking tonight (happy paddys day all!) so still don't have real time.

I will say that without swammerdamis confirmation I'd be voting lightfoot right now because I think her clues have been the most confusing + vague. I'm ok with sticking with zuma for the moment since he refuses to name handshake with anyone for reasons I think are extremely unclear

Zuma is up by 1 already, but I don't want Chaos(who has yet to vote) to be able to come in at the last minute and tie again.
