Well, he's a shitty guitar player, singer, and web designer. Not sure what else I'd stick around for. Extremely not remotely whelmed after 40 seconds.

Bottom of the page.

That's not evolved, that's some horrid mutation caused by an unknown form of radiation last seen in a movie being mocked by Joel and the bots.

Mr. Plumbean, that's my take exactly on it as well. I'm under no illusion -- it's not like I think my writing is any good -- but if you're convinced you're already the next Shakespear you're not gonna improve.

I tried to give some honest feedback without being a Dick about it.

I don't have sympathy for him. And I'm nice to people. He's a little jerk. And wears his mental problems like badge of honor. And for all his bragging about his creativity you could do better in a junior high school.

LHOD and Asahi are having a White Knight-off in the Huey thread. Huey wandered off ages ago. They just keep going, whitesplaining blackness to the rest of us.

That seems fair to me, since Huey is constantly blacksplaining whiteness to the rest of us.

In all fairness, I've seen screenshots of the MEMZ virus running rampant on a computer and the art is about the same. No dancing cat though. If you stopped mocking the nuts over there, there's be nothing left but a handful of people with real lives.

Ok, when was it decided that he was mentally ill and not just a dunning-kruger(?) vicitim? Because his older posts all point to d-k, not schizophrenia.

I looked for this and didn't find it. Two different threads I guess. He does have a lot of food and supplement style crankery mixed in with (very few, < one a year) posts about his "projects").

Good lord Dr. Dumbth, or whatever he's called, is tiresome. In an innocuous thread about cover songs, he drops this turd:

3.The first version to hit the charts is "original" the rest are covers.

I like #3 myself. Certainly, many many hit songs are such that the big hit version of is the one we all think of. To say that it is just a "cover" because the songwriter plinked it out on her/his piano before selling it is ridiculous.

However, Otis Redding's take on the OPs song would still be the original, since it charted in the top 40.
Nobody else has a problem understanding the extremely basic concept of a cover song. When challenged, he gets even dumber:

He's an idiot.

I know the guy with the youtube channel somebody linked to. He used to work in radio and is obsessed with this topic. I once tried to dig up a single "original" he didn't know about; I can't remember if I did it. He's like a fucking encyclopedia.

Growing up, we had an old Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia that was published in like 1970. In 4th or 5th grade I had to do a report on Ronald Regan, so I dutifully went to look him up in the F&W and all there was was a few paragraphs about his movie career and when he was president of the Screen Actor's Guild, but zilcho about him as POTUS.

Less than useful.

Potential misogyny thread alert!

Women have a long history of being valued primarily for their appearance, particularly as it relates to finding a mate, while men have been valued more for other qualities. So a man can be good looking without needing to be attractive to women, while historically a woman must specifically be attractive to men, which would include the ability to bear children. A good looking woman who can no longer bear children isn't pretty because she is not desirable as a mate.

And yes, all of this is in general -- I know that there are a limited number of older women who are pretty and even beautiful.

I had a 1972 World Book Encyclopedia, but it was in 1973 so that was OK. But it was illegally photocopied -- the whole damn encyclopedia -- in Taiwan so there was all kind of weird censorship like removing all references to Mongolia as a country, the commies taking over big China, lots of sexual topics, etc.

Korea. We were living there doing diplomatic stuff and dad decided we needed an encyclopedia. He thought he was getting a great deal -- we didn't know until I came upon some of the changed entries that anything was amiss.

To be fair to him, that 'cure for cancer' bit wasn't something he claimed to have invented, it was an analogy, so he didn't have to put out details of his actual idea, so no one would steal it. You were supposed to understand that his parkour movie idea was as impressive as a cure for cancer, so some Hollywood producer should want to jump on it. To be fair to you and everyone else who didn't get that, his presentation of his so-called 'ideas' in that thread was as clear as mud.

Gotham city, girl meets boy
