It's a stupid but lighthearted thread about what women say and what they really mean. It was started, by the way, as an answer to a similar thread about men. Elysian takes offense and tries to throw a wet blanket on the whole thing (Post 21). msmith brilliantly responds (Post 32) and continues to own her (Post 52).

I don't really feel one way or the other about msmith537 but that ownage was kinda meh IMO. Especially the "har har, woman is criticizing me, she wants to fuck me" that was post 52. Seriously, guys, women can have an opinion about something without wanting to do you. That shit gets old after awhile.

For the last one at loach, though, that was pretty bad. However, I think this discovery has sent him into a tailspin, and a bunch fo durpers were (surprise!) pretty nasty to him. I hope the mods give him a day or two to cool off then unsuspend him.

He got pissed because he thought someone called his mother a whore (and didn't) and then said fuck you to a mod.

He may have been knocked for a loop by the whole thing, but his idea that his mother was artificially inseminated but then while she was pregnant, learned that the prospective parents were both dying (though they were around apparently in his childhood?) and decided to keep the twins instead of holding up her end of the deal is kind of... Well, it's rather unlikely. And then he posted that he was proud of his mother for doing that. Which he doesn't have any evidence for, but is way more likely in his mind than she had an affair or was assaulted or anything else. But weirdly, the family friends named the boys?

It seems like a time out was needed.

Why is Etv78 flipping out about the moderation when Loach didn't even give Sigman a warning. He told him that he can't call someone a 'dickhead' in MPSIMs. The horror.

Sigman lost his shit because Bear Nenno suggested that his mother may have had an affair. Funnier (to me) was Hajario suggesting that his slutty mother might have had twins by two different fathers, but Sigman let that slip right by.

A very entertaining thread. I hope they reopen it when the suspension is over.

Low blood sugars like that are pretty scary. I'm a type 1 diabetic since age 14 and a few years back I woke up in my bedroom with an IV in my arm and several EMTs in my bedroom. My sugar plummeted while I was asleep and I didn't wake up. Luckily I lived with my mom at the time and she found me. That was a fun experience

I've never used a pump and I don't really have any desire to. I'm fine doing injections. Good thing, because I'm currently uninsured and could never afford all the equipment anyway.

I just recently started using a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) for the first time ever. Although I don't currently have it on because I'm out of supplies. Regular occurrence since I have to self-fund it. You're referring to one of the fancier CGMs that has alarms and the ability to send alarms to other people via an app. The one I use is more basic. You wear a sensor and use a reader, which looks like your basic blood sugar meter, scan it and you get your reading. Still miles better than pricking your finger all the time. I love it.

I'm really not all that fond of the idea of having my blood sugar readings being sent to other people anyway. I don't need my mom texting me every time I go high. It's my disease to manage and mine for life, and I have to be able to cope without people babysitting me, is my feeling. Admittedly the alarm thing would have come in handy that night, though.

Anyways, sorry for the overly long digression. Will return to snarking.

P.S. I'm sorry to hear about your friend raventhief. Sadly, it's an all too common occurrence within the diabetes community. I got very, very lucky, that's for sure.

I'm really ok. If I die, I die. I don't want to die but there's not much I can do about it. When you have diabetes as long as I have ( diagnosed at 3yo) you can get blase' about it. I have been managing this disease for many years, through 3 pregnancies and various other things. But sometimes shit just happens. I talk to alot of people emailing and Dropzone was the only one who noticed I was typing gibberish. His wife was a severe diabetic so he knew the signs. I owe him my life.
