That's a good snark name: I just came up with Rim Pibbles which is almost as good but not grammatical unless you add a distracting "s". And unfair to the innocent pibbles involved.

You can prove the conservation of angular momentum with basic calculus thanks to Noether's Theorem. This, in itself, doesn't guarantee angular momentum is conserved, but it does mean that if it isn't, a huge amount of well-tested and readily-verifiable physics is, in fact, wrong, and one would wonder how all of the physicists could possibly have missed it. Or, to enter into the crackpot's mindset, covered it up. It would be like discovering that there'd been a huge sinkhole in the middle of Central Park for the past century.

https://www.mathpages.com/home/kmath564/kmath564.htm

http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/noether.html

And the nutball even rejects this line of reasoning in post #39, by calling it an appeal to tradition. Wrong. Noether's theorem has been shown to be a useful model of reality at all scales, all the way down to the quantum level, and just handwaving it away is strong evidence this nutball has no understanding of physics.

No he's not.

He's a self-interested Populist authoritarian to the bone with absolutely zero ideological anchoring at all. Had he somehow slimed his way into running as a Democrat he'd be swinging differently, he'd be authoritan populist semi-Left promoting whatever got him more power.

Nobody asked the village idiot's opinion, did they? And you're wrong, of course. Trump is and always has been a right winger.

I'm surprised it was BPC -- I would've thought BigT would be the top for reporting posts.

Theoretically, you could also consume nothing but cheetos and diet Dr Pepper and as long as you kept your calorie count down, you'd lose weight. You'd still feel pretty shitty. You need to change the WAY you eat. Just eating less isn't going to cut it -- you need to eat better.

I assume you're talking about one of the rule discussion threads I haven't caught up on. You shouldn't be surprised BPC had the highest number of posts reported. He started shitloads of threads in ATMB "when you banning these trolls" and it came up in at least one that he reported a post at least every day.

And I bet it's rare BigT reports. Probably figures it's better if he just explains why the other guy is so wrong.

Wow. I'm no physicist, and I didn't spend much time trying to understand the specifics of the debate, but this guy is quite a piece of work.

I think that perhaps the funniest part of the whole exchange is when he linked to his page of rejections from scientific journals. Look how many there are! And they're not shy about telling him that his claims are light years outside of the accepted scientific consensus.

It started long ago. This actress - Shivarna Mitra - got upset about something a poster named Scruff said about her on here.

Those Raisinettes you're eating right now?

Also, those little round rainbow sprinkles that tend to bounce off and roll all over the kitchen when you try to sprinkle them on something.

I liked this one:

This is not a scientific paper, much less a mathematical physics paper. Perhaps you should look for a discussion group, blog, or other publication dedicated to the Physics Education.

My favorite:

I regret to inform you that we do not find your manuscript #16-1109, "Ball on a string," suitable for publication in the Journal of Mathematical Physics. Personally, I am a fan of poetry but JMP is not the place to publish your verse.
Oh, good lord, we need a "laughing your ass off" smiley...

Thank you for your submission. Please be advised, however, that ours is a history journal and does not publish scientific papers.

1.The manuscript is too short.
2.The main text could be found here: https://www.physicsoverflow.org/39550/remaining-variables-magnitudes-correctly-conserved-magnitude

If you do all the Firefox things that get you to view a single picture on a web-page, you get this. If you then do the [CTRL][+] as many times as it takes to blow up the picture to as big as it will do, you will see that it's probably the same person as the ones on mjm's page. This one's the best.

The lighting in Detroit Hoser's avvie pic is a bit different, but it's almost certainly the same face.

No. It means he posted his shit somewhere else, first, and they only publish stuff if they're the first venue to get to publish it, so even if it wasn't total shit, they wouldn't have published it, anyway, since he posted it somewhere else, first. Either that or he plagiarized it from someone with the same name as him.

That's actually a pretty funny OP. He bought a cheapie yogurt maker which completely dies within the warranty period. Then he got some kind of canned response to a resolution email asking him to take a video of the problem. The video would be of a yogurt maker literally doing nothing.

Or upload 8 hrs of potato quality video of the item in question, the big reveal at the end is that the milk in it is still not yogurt. Sure, it'd take a while to upload but damn, how much fun would that be to imagine some drone charged with watching the thing. #MaliciousCompliance
