grrrr. I have perused some propaganda posters and have had some (possibly good) ideas but I am utter shite at using editors. I downloaded pixlr and it took me 45 minutes to find the bloody thing and even then I don't know how I did. Editing existing text without it looking crap is something I cannot do...

There's a sticky in this forum for Paint.NET, which I use: it's a free download, reasonably sophisticated, awesomely supported with its own forums, and pretty easy to use. Quick learning curve, too, especially if all you know is MS Paint.
