In this case, the only thing wrong is what I would call a fairly minor nitpick, it's a thread, not a forum. That's a minor labeling problem, not being factually incorrect.

A bit ironic, coming from someone who moderates a forum over on Giraffe which is specifically dedicated to making fun of people here and stirring up conflict between the two boards.

The second (bolded) part in particular. This forum is not dedicated to stirring up conflict between the two boards. The two boards share a lot of members, even if it seems like SDMB wants to Other the Gweeb. We are them and they are us. I'm not here to try to stir up conflict. Maybe some are, I dunno. Mostly I'm here for the snark. And the mafia.

I second this opinion. ECGs two-part syllogism has no incorrect part: there is a forum dedicated to snark here, and some members do get worked up. But that doesn't show that this forum is dedicated to stirring up conflict like ECG thinks it does. So simply responding to the demand to disprove one of the two arguments is like responding to creationists' idiotic demands for irrelevant scientific proofs.

I much more enjoy watching the mods stumble over themselves to the point that Ed has to step in with another rule. You're a moderator on a message board. You know the difference between a forum and a thread. Claiming that a member here has a message board which has a "forum dedicated to snarking and making fun of people on the SDMB" is a big step up from having a message board where another member started a thread about the SDMB. "Fairly minor" my ass.

There's one goddamn "real" thread in BYB and this is it. So yeah, kinda minor distinction in this case. And Fenris starts most of them, nutjob, not "another member".
