LOST 04-01-09 "What Happened, Happened"
Much better episode than I expected to be honest. I was anticipating more Kate-Sawyer-Jack drama (which I don't like).
I love Hurley's argument with Miles. And...sorry, Jack's right and I'm still not feeling any sympathy whatsoever for L'il Ben. More once it's over. |

As always Hurley gets the best lines. I was right about where Aaron ended up, no surprise there. I am curious about why Kate felt the need to spill the beans about everyone being alive, both to Claires mother and Sawyers old girlfriend. I kept waiting for her (sawyers baby mama) to try and blackmail Kate

Because Kate is a big, huge gaping suck-hole of drama. As is Jack.
And I'm glad to see that both Sawyer and Juliet are smart enough to avoid getting sucked into their vortex of sucky drama. And I still don't feel bad for L'il Ben. Frankly I agree with Sayid and think Juliet and Kate are idiots for trying to save the little bastard. |

The OP says that he thought it was better than he expected, but I felt the exact opposite way. This episode, for me, was the most disappointing since the season three days.
Aaron walks away, like a normal kid, from his "mom" at the supermarket, and Kate deems it a sign (or something) that she has to abandon him, after raising him since he was a baby, to get back to an island which she probably won't be able to leave? Then she tells everyone that they the Oceanic 6 were lying through their teeth? Also, at the beginning, it seemed really far-fetched that Cassidy would be able to immediately identify that it wasn't really Kate's baby. I mean, who the hell makes an accusation like that? Finally, Richard's explanation ("He'll forget all of this and LOSE HIS INNOCENCE") seemed like a really crappy deus ex machina plot-device to get around how Ben didn't recognize Sayid in 2004. Just a really, really bad episode, IMO. |

I'm willing to give Richard's explanation a chance and see where they go with it 'cause this season's been so good.
And Kate? She's attached to someone (Aaron) so of course she has to screw up her life and as many other lives as possible. "Big sucking drama-vortex". That's what she does. |

I gotta agree with mshar. Aside from the argument between Hurley and Miles, this episode was a drama-filled let-down. But then again, I've thought that about just about every episode that features Kate and her backstory. For the love of Og, someone put her out of my misery.
At least next week we'll hopefully see how Sun and Lapidus are doing. I suppose it's too much to hope that Locke tries to exact some revenge on Ben for killing him twice? |
