He seems like a pretty OK guy, and not deserving of major snark, but he does have a few WTF tendencies.

As Fenris mentioned he goes batshit about 9/11 truthers. I think they are nuts myself, but his whole "They're lying, they are all liars!" shtick is odd, to say the least. Why wouldn't they be sincere?

Also, he has taken it upon himself to be Islam's white knight. For sure, there are a lot of asinine posts about Islam on the dope, and it's good to correct them, but anytime someone posts any mild suggestion that maybe Islam might have a small problem with encouraging violent fanatical movements among a small subset of it's population Monty will be on them like Ducati on a rude teen, calling them a horrible racist as bad as a Klansman.

Also, whenever there's an RO thread about a horrible crime like "Man microwaves and eats girlfriends baby" there are inevitably posters devising hideous punishments for the horrible criminal. This is a little silly, but mostly you can see it as a visceral reaction to a horrible crime, and it's easy to ignore. I'm sure if you asked most of those posters "Should we really be covering these criminals in honey and fire ants?" they would say no. However Monty has to come in to these threads and let everyone know how sad it is to be among people who would lower themselves to the same moral plane as those who commit these crimes, as though anyone was being serious. It's a form of annoying moral preening.

Yeah--don't get me wrong--he's a good poster overall, but he has a couple of weird quirks.

His other one was, before you could edit your post; making a post. Immediately making a new post correcting an error. Then immediately making a follow-up to correct something else. There are some threads from the early 2000s where there're like 8 corrections in a row. He's completely stopped that but way back when, it drove me nuts.
