Greatest Hit of the '70s, Round 2a: Hot Stuff (1979) vs. I Want You to Want Me (1979)
"Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer (#7 song of 1979) vs. "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick (#34 song of 1979)
To reduce the chances that two strong songs would meet in Round 2, criteria were used to assign songs to the top or bottom half of the remaining field. "Hot Stuff" was considered to be a relatively strong contender for being Rolling Stone's #104 Song of All Time and for earning 82.61% of the votes cast in its Round 1 poll.
