I like both these guys, really. Both are super-engineer characters that play off the Scotty prototype, of course, but both are also a little more complex than Scotty ever was.
Trip is 'closer' to us, relatable in that way. I love Trip for reaching out to and standing up for the cogenitor. Geordi is the Trek representative for disabled achievement, but he's also got his frustrated love life. Like Barclay, he gets a little carried away with his holographic fantasy... which gets discovered by the real woman in another classic moment. ![]() ![]() I guess I'll give it to Geordi for longevity and variety of roles. |
