London Dopefest September 5th
There's a Dopefest being mooted on the Dope and I said that I'd suggest it here. Any UK bodies interested in going? Lo Slung, Phoebe or not Phoebe, Tracy Lord?

I'm bringing this back from the social group chat as it's easier to discuss here. So the consensus seems to be that we forget the Dopefest (yeah, right, the Dope - what did they ever do for us!) and just have a Rafferfest instead. People up for that?
Does the 5th of September present a problem for anyone? If not I say we stick to it.

I think le Fromage said he couldn't make it.
It's not a snub to the dope, just that, I don't use it, so it'd be odd!!! And btw ... "we're all lovely"? You're Satan ... you gotta lie better than that

Did he? Well, I'm open to other suggestions if people would rather another weekend. Oh, with regard to holding it in London Zoo, it's a cute idea but I would point out it's not a great environment for socialising with people you don't know. Are there any pubs near the zoo we could start at?

Hey going to Giraffe restaurant sounds good, also the food is pretty tasty yumyum!
(personal agenda, Victoria is not fair from where I live!) Although the Giraffe Southbank is a bit of a nicer location, IMHO.

It's easy enough for me to get to either - being from sarf of the river, I'll just get a train to either Victoria or Waterloo. So either one's good for me.

I vote for Giraffe (great idea!) Southbank as it's easy for me to get home that way, and also Fromage will find it easier to park around there too I reckon.

The Giraffe Restaurant looks like a great idea, and it's near the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament so we can get some interesting pics of us for our fellow 'Raffers round the world. I dunno where I'd park but I'll think of something. I could park near a tube station further out and get in to Waterloo.

Bonsoir.
Are we going for an afternoon meet? Fromage apparently has somewhere better to be later on... HMMPH! /miss piggy ..and IP may want to head on over to the Dopefest if that's an evening bash? I must express a preference for afternoon as this means we could take better photos in front of proper London stuff like Big Ben and that, to show off here!

Sounds like a good idea - I think a lunch time meet would be good for all, yes? Should match with Fromage's plans, and yes you're right we can take fun pics too.
As for going to the Dopefest, I'm not even sure it's going to be happening now, no-one is responding to the thread.

Right, I've planned my route/car park/tube etc. 1pm, Giraffe Southbank Centre. How many of us are there going to be, so we know what size table to ask for?
Do you think they serve the food on plates with stilts, so we have to use our prehensile tongues to reach up and eat?
