Birthday

Hi.
Today is April 7th and I'm 40 years old. I've decided to quit smoking and had my last cigarette at 9:30ish last night.
So far so good. It's 2:38 in the afternoon and I think I'm doing alright. I've had one fairly large nicotine fit about an hour and a half ago, but kept telling myself "I don't smoke anymore!" and it eventually went away. Being that today is my birthday I'm busier than usual with people stopping by my office to wish me Happy Birthday, so I haven't thought too much about smoking.
I've decided not to tell the boys that I quit. I'm kinda curious to see how long it will take them to notice. My guess is it won't be too long. I smoked over a pack a day before today.
I've tried to quit several times before, but always made an excuse to start back up again. We'll see how it goes this time...

Thank you for your encouraging words. I really appreciate it. And I thought no one was reading this garbage.
Day 2. I made it through yesterday without a singe cigarette. There were a few rough spots. This morning was pretty difficult. And any time I'm driving. I have an hour commute to my office every day.Posted 8th April 2009 at 06:39 AM by ItsInTheCards -

I'm actually doing ok. Day three and when the craving hits, I just repeat to myself, "No, I don't smoke anymore." For some reason it works. (That and the fact that my oldest doesn't think I will do it.) I also figure I've already saved over $20 in three days. Maybe my husband will get his Harley eventually afterall!
