Oh, what the hell.

I'm feeling under the weather and whiny, so I figured I'd whinge on about it here.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting a cold, as I have sinus drainage, feel all dried out, am sneezing tons more than usual, and am tired. Fuck, am I tired. Of course, that could be my Auntie Flo coming 'round to call, too (damn, she can be such an inconsiderate bitch, you know?). Her visits always exhaust me and make me extremely emotional.
Got told today that one part of the company I work for is going to have shut down one week next month, and that affects office personnel as well. As I'm in IT, I support other branches that are not going to be shut down, but I'm still being asked (told) to take days off - and I can either take some of my vacation days, or I can take them unpaid. *sigh* I'm pretty sure I'm going to opt for unpaid now - as I'd like to save my paid vacation time for July and December. Especially December. All I know is that I'm supremely thankful I still have a job, even if there is major suckage. I will keep doing my job to the best of my ability and hope and pray for the best.
If you've read all that and still think kindly of me, thank you. I needed to chatter about it a bit, I think, and I feel better for it.

I read it - and I hope you feel better soon! I've had a similar thing, with the cold and the runny nose and the crushing tiredness - hopefully it won't last long for you!
It sucks about having to take unpaid leave, too - it's getting increasingly common here, as well - but it's sort of nice that at least they are a company that is looking for ways to avoid firing people...
Hope your week improves - you know where to find us if you feel like ranting and raving about it, if not!Posted 24th March 2009 at 12:00 AM by Nicole -
Me and my snotty, tired self thank you, Nicole sweetie. I know I'm not alone, and while that's sad and it's a bad way for us all to be in, there is small comfort in that. Does that make sense? Meaning, I can talk about it and folks understand (even if they're not personally experiencing it at the moment).
One day at a time, right?Posted 24th March 2009 at 03:41 AM by Dazzling White Diamonds -
Just wanted to drop by and say that 1) I'm sorry you're not feeling so well, Flo be damned (heh), 2) that I hope they allow you to hold off on your paid vacation days until the time when you are ready to use them (I mean, don't they know one has to be able to be off around the holidays!?) and 3) I'm glad to have your blog to subscribe to now. Yeah Dazz!
