Never tried to publicly air my laundry, dirty or otherwise, although I do like that "fresh air scent".

My granddaughter has been diagnosed with it. Not the usual kind, something less serious. She should get to be about 4' to 4'10". Tall enough to be pretty functional, but disproportionate. Enough that children will notice and most certainly be unkind. No other health issues are expected, although she may have back problems.
The family is doing pretty well with it. Many jokes about Mordor, and chocolate factories and yellow brick roads. We have no experience with it, I guess we will all figure it out as we go.
So... interesting, not tragic.

It's ok to be sad about this. It's a challenge she will have to live with. It's ok for you to not have to downplay it. Sure it could be worse, and looking on the bright side can be useful. But it's also ok to just be sad about it for a while too.
