Hey Oxirane, I noticed your t-shirt in that first photo! I take it you're a Hot Tuna fan? I've been a fan since the early 70s when my older brother had Burgers on vinyl. I was at Jorma's 70th birthday concert at the Beacon Theatre in NYC almost 10 years ago. Only saw them one other time, in Chicago, 1990.

Oh, yeah, my then 16 year old brother took me to my first Grateful Dead concert in 1976 when I was 14, that opened up a whole world of music to me, I've seen Jorma and/or Hot Tuna about 10 times, last saw them a few years ago at the Egg in Albany, he's as good now as every, guy is an amazing guitarist...my brother saw him with David Bromberg a couple of years ago, he said that was amazing...I discovered Bromberg freshman year in college, I wore out, "You Should See The Rest Of The Band", seen him just about every time I could...when I saw that t-shirt, I had to get it...love Jorma...

The last show I saw was an acoustic/electric show, I love the electric, but acoustic Tuna is magical...

Cool, hajario!
Jorma is indeed an amazing guitarist- and now he's close to 80! Edit: Nice video, Oxirane. Another edit: Gotta throw in some props to Jack Casady too. Last edited by Rock; 16th April 2020 at 04:32 PM. |

And still touring - my brother's got a ticket for me in July at the Capital Theater, just not sure if that's going to happen...

I've never seen this one!
I'm so glad you got him to take this trip. Out of his comfort zone..he wasn't too sure...but he was SO happy he went. |

He also got to meet Loshan and Chacoguy on this trip.
It wasn't too hard to talk him into. He was chatting on Facebook with Loshan. She was about to leave her home to fly to Texas. I thought it'd be a good idea to go visit her there but that was no good for various reasons. But she had a layover in Denver. We left his house within the hour. Drove straight there. And arrived at the airport just as her plane was landing. Everyone needs to step outside their comfort zone once in awhile. |

If we go chronologically, you can see in the first picture that it was around 1966 when my world-reknowned fashion ideas began to seed.
![]() My tenth grade English teacher was gullible, ignorant, and a bitch, to boot. I would argue with her even when I knew she was technically right. I was just an asshole. ![]() This, I think, was somewhere between 2004 and 2010, the final two times I've seen any of those people. The one on the blue tub is my sister, while I'm sitting on the steps at my parents' suburban home after one of their funerals, wishing I could escape my sister and her bratty kids. ![]() Finally, me and my peeps from work after a couple beers in 2018. I'm the one in the back wearing a black tee shirt. They all worked from 7-4 and I worked from 4AM to 1PM so I was in my playclothes. ![]() |

Oh, all right. My wife's sister has put together family calendars for some years now and this if from that. She forced it to b&w which makes sense for the "subject matter". I rather like it. Me and my grandson, about 15 months back:

If you're talking about my photo and not drewbert's- I'm guessing my dad was using one of those light hollow practice balls, like a wiffle ball. Then again my dad had a warped sense of humor (which I inherited and which may explain some of my "jokes").
