Amazon Prime fail.
On Dec. 31st I ordered socks for Hubby from Amazon. I have a prime account so it was to be 2 day free shipping. But because of the Holiday the package wasn't going to arrive until the 5th. On the local news, on the evening of the 4th, there was a story about an Amazon Prime truck jackknifed on the freeway. I joked to Hubby, "There goes your socks!" I was right. That evening I got an email saying the package was delayed until the 7th or 8th.
The 8th came and went, no socks. I called Amazon support.* The barely understandable rep just kept saying how sorry he was, as though it was entirely his fault. He said the order was lost so, he gave me a $5 credit on my next order, and reordered the socks. For some reason they had to be regular shipping. They arrived on the 14th. Yesterday, the 16th, there was a new package on the doorstep. It was the original package, dirty but intact. It looked like it had been in a freeway crash. I sent it back today. * It sounded like the boiler room scenes from bad TV. |

I'm not a xenophobe, but I prefer chat support to phone support, whenever possible. I've had to deal with Amazon, HP, DirecTV, and Dell in the past few months. The accents aren't that bad -- but I can't get these folks to slow down. "Can you speak more slowly please?" They say "Sorry" and then talk even faster.

How does one find chat on Amazon? I haven't looked all that hard, but my cursory searches haven't found anything. I had an empty envelope delivered. It was obviously unsealed and the item had slipped out. I want to send the envelope as evidence, however, Amazon wants me to return the ITEM when I don't have one. ???

Yeah, me too (about the callback service). I bought an Asus tablet for a trip to Europe about six weeks before my travel date. We were leaving on Sunday morning, and on Thursday night I went to turn the tablet on and there was a big green stripe down the screen. It was too late for Asus to get me a new one via RMA, but the Amazon guy said that, because of the circumstances and because I'd been a customer for 20 years, he'd overnight me a new one, even though it was outside Amazon's return window. Sure enough, it arrived by 10AM the next day! That guy really saved my butt that day!
