Technically, you're right. It's not a name, it's an acronym.

You have to give ABBA credit for writing some absurdly infectious pop music back in the day, but that was just a melange of noises.

I say this as someone who was never really "into" them, but appreciated their skill and artistry. Despite all of its flaws, I think that's a decent effort after 40 years of not releasing new material. As much as some elements are annoying me now, I'll give it a few more listens and see what I think then. |

For those of you panning it, they released https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pAzEY1MfXrQ this one as well. This one is truly truly awful. Such a boring piece of twattle.

The thing I've never been able to figure out is why ABBA is so popular in the Caribbean. You can be sitting in a Caribbean bar/restaurant listening to reggae and then an ABBA song comes on.

I like it. Looking at the comments, the world needs it right now.

Sorry, but that felt like the beginning of a multi-level marketing seminar. EST Fest or something.

It's like that old joke: if you live in paradise, where do you vacation? I imagine some destitute Jamaican listening to ABBA and dreaming of fur parkas, rosy cheeks and endless miles of white, pristine snow. |

None of them need the money.
Swedish media is of course going gaga about this, and reporting on the accolades from international media. How easy we forget. ABBA was despised and spat on in Sweden during the height of their career: plastic, mind-less, vapid. The negative comments just kept coming with each subsequent album. I think they stopped recording partly because of this. As for the new songs? Meh. They sound like something that didn't make the cut in '82. For Abbologists that's fine, since they want more of that stuff. For me, it'd be more interesting if they'd included some of the influences they've soaked up in the interim years. Björns the one who handles the ABBA legacy. Benny has made a lot of records in Swedish, most of it on the folk-sy side. |

Yeah. I'm just gonna have to disagree. The song is classic ABBA.

More serious answer - at least AFAIK, all those emojis, including the 'chocolate soft serve' is part of UTF-8, which is the global standard for letters, glyphs, symbols and stuff. It's easily available on your phone, when you text.
Some computers have them, others don't. If you don't - go to the link Boozy supplied. Ready... set... 🏁 |

Weird. It shows up on my screen as "SE" and "USA."
I can't see the Afghan flag in my header. |
