The Waco Kid



Dan Dailey was the first choice to play The Waco Kid. Gig Young was asked to step in, when Dailey declined the part, but due to his increasing alcoholism he was unable to continue. Gene Wilder was originally offered the part of Hedley Lamarr before accepting The Waco Kid. (Reportedly, Mel Brooks also offered the role to Johnny Carson.)

Sally Kimball



Sally is effectively a ten-year-old action hero, and served as the brawn (to Encyclopedia's brain), his enforcer, and never his secretary.

I really think the Waco Kid is the monster candidate I forgot about. With either Watson or Robin going out this round, I think Waco Kid is a very likely final four now.

To the best of my knowledge, Sally never dressed as a Klansman. But I still think I have to vote for the Waco Kid.

it's hard to imagine anyone else playing the role if not Gene Wilder. Certainly not Johnny Carson!

Ok, but context is key, don't you think, since Cleavon Little ALSO dressed as a Klansman in that scene?
