mle knitted Salambit a super duper sweet and lovely blanket! I got it in the mail today. Pictures will be forthcoming. I want to wrap her up in it to take the pics, but she's currently in yummy fleecy PJs and she juuuuuust fell asleep after an overstimulating afternoon of batting a small pink bird wearing chimes in her bassinet, so I gotta wait until she wakes up. Well, if I want to eat tonight, I gotta wait until she wakes up...

I LOVE the colours! It reminds me of confettis, or birthday cake, two of my favourite things. I don't know what 'bit's favourite things are yet, so she'll have to make do with what I like. Lucky (?) for her, Mama likes an awful lot of things...

mle, it is beautiful, thank you, thank you! So cuddly! Just in time, too; looks like we're supposed to get some snow next week.

That's gorgeous! How in hell do you knit a round thing--is it triangular panels sewn together?

Nope, it's just knit in the round, like you would do with socks or a hat. I start on double-pointeds and switch to circulars when it gets big enough. The panel separations are created by yarn overs. I'll post a link to the pattern I used, if anyone is interested.

Wow, that's fancy. I have this incredibly rudimentary grasp of knitting, just enough for me to be in awe of the complicated stuff. I probably should learn how to do it better but so far I've not acquired the will to do so...

She's not digging sitting still for too long right now, she wants to kick and play. So here she is wrapped up, but don't let the innocent look fool you; here she is practicing her newest skill: smirking. Well, some say at five weeks they are smiling, but she's taking after her mama and rocking the smirk hardcore.

Sigh. I do wish I could knit in rounds. Post the pattern, mle, that I may boggle at it in wonder and awe. I could only ever knit squares or rectangles.
