Make fun of user names!

This is a surefire method to ease any multi board tensions and forge new relationships. Choose a username from any of the MBs we know and use, but especially those associated with the SDMB and GB. So, G'Dope is fair game, FFF, Domebo, etc...

I'll start.

FENRIS

"Oh you poor child. Were you left behind and later found in the lost luggage section of Fenchurch station?"

(well, that might be a stretch, since the names don't match)

GusNSpot

Guns and Pot (I think he actually likes this nickname)

PURE

Puree is more appropriate!

Ryevermouthbitters

I keep thinking this is a river somewhere in East Europe

Yeah, I got nothin, no clue really...

You have to read this one in Norm MacDonald's voice:

Man, that boy hasn't got a clue

So I've never posted (or even signed up) at SDMB, but I've lurked there occasionally. I thought of the name "HurricaneDickhead" (or maybe "BadstormJohnsonskull") all by myself, altho' I later saw somebody else post about that Trump Ranger and they used that term as well.
And I think it'd be amusing if one of y'all would get a sock puppet over at SDMB called "Blowdamn" and sign all your posts with, "Retards, Blowdamn."
There's another I thought of that makes fun of someone who posts on here and I think SDMB but she seems nice and I won't share it, even tho' I kind of LOL'd a little when I though of it.

PS: I thought of the name "Blowdamn" ('cause, damn, he blows) but somebody else came up with the "Retards" instead of "Regards" idea. I'd give credit if I could remember who it waz.

O yea, again I can't remember who came up with this or I'd give credit but there's somebody that posts a lot at SDMB named Northern Piper whom somebody here has referred to as "Northern Diaper." which literally (not just figuratively) made me LOL.

Hey, Jagofflavak, that's pretty good. I generally don't like to be mean. Unless it's to somebody that deserves it, which Trump Rangers, Like Blowdamn and Hurricane Johnsonskull, do. Or somebody that calls me "Mental Gears.!"

I (proudly?) coined the term. The funny part is that was in MPSIMS and I didn't even get a warning. Gool 'ol Idle Thots...why hasn't he ever come back?

You thought of it before I did, or ever even heard of him. But I did think of that name independently when 1st I saw dude's screen name.

This is a fun thread, I hope it keeps rolling for awhile.
I'm usually good at coming up with joke names for people and things but I can't seem to come up with a lot of amusing ones for people who post at SDMB.
However, I noticed a couple of names that are backwards spellings, I'm pretty sure.
One is "drad dog," which I guess references a long-ago guy who was influential in the rocketry business early on or a fictional character who wrote a racist book.
The other that crossed my mind was "enipla," anent to some geographical formations, like lakes and mountains. Or to Dr Alvin "Al" Pine (1894-1987), who discovered herpes.
Are there any more of these?

Ya go looking for herpes, ya never know what you're gonna find, altho' a lot of times you find herpes.

As far as names spelled backwards at SDMB, which I can't seem to shut up about, I just remembered that someone who posts a lot over there is Der Trihs. Spelled backwards is "Shirt Red." I don't know what the significance of that name is.

It is actually Red Shirts as in the luckless crewmen of Star Trek that wore Red tunics and often got killed in episodes. Except he explained his name is actually from some small comic that took the name as a play on what I explained.

On "Star Trek", the crew member in the Red Shirt was doomed. It's extended into a wider trope.

I had thought it was a reference to "waving the bloody shirt". His explanation is a good deal more plebeian than mine. I guess there's a lot less there than meets the eye.

"Heathen"? Guilty as charged. (Also Atheist-Buddhist-Daoist-Dudeist-Erisian-Pastafarian, among other things.)

But I know what I'm talking about in this instance (blind dog/bone, stopped clock twice a day, etc.):

Quote:
APF Chapter 3: Discworld Annotations

Mort

- [p. 17] "'They call me Mort.' WHAT A COINCIDENCE, [...]"

Not only does 'Mort' mean 'death' in French, but in The Light Fantastic we also learned (on p. 95), that Death's own (nick)name is Mort. Opinions on a.f.p. are divided as to which of these two facts is the 'coincidence' Death is talking about.

Lietenant Der Trihs is also a minor character in the pretty awesome webcomic Schlock Mercenary and I have a vague* memory of that being IDd in a dope 'why your name?' thread as the culprit.

You know who else is a character in Schlock Mercenary?

Regards,

AssPeeDistra

*all my memories are vague

Hunh. How 'bout that.

Odd that the character seems a bit ... unilluminated.

Well, not so much "odd" as "incredibly appropriate," I s'pose.

Cloven hooves, yes; chews its cud, yes. I'm not a rabbi, but I'd say if slaughtered properly moose meat could be kosher. You'd be better off consulting a higher authority than me; though.

A long-winded Farter Member of The SDMB has earned a new nickname for referring to The Geeb as a "parasite board." Which he didn't actually do by name but what else might he mean? Are there other independent, supplementary SDMB message boards like this one out there? It's EXPANDO CRAPCASE!
https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb...d.php?t=882352

BTW, I can kind of see his point but I still don't like it.

Cheers!

I guess "Expando CrapFACE" would be pretty good, too...

I'm resisting making a joke based on your comment (some might consider it vulgar) but don't worry; this isn't a parasite board. It's just been accused of being one by some douche named EXPANDO CRAPFACE and what does he know about anything?
