Socially-Distant PIZZA-PARTY!!!!
  Before I got cancer, we used to have regular pizza-parties with some friends of ours. Then I couldn't eat anything, not even pizza, for more than a year. Just as I'm starting to be able to eat pizza again, Corona shows up to rain on my parade.  Well, shit. It's time for my first pizza-party in over a year, and CoronaVirus be damned! We just arranged for a socially-distant pizza party for Tuesday. I've got a semi-circular driveway. Gonna put a table with the pizza and everything halfway down the driveway. They park in the west half, we get the east half, and we'll shout at each other!*And nosh on pizza!!!one!!eleven!!1!!11!!! Rah, Rah, Rah!!!Partay!   *It was also their kid, Matthew's birthday last week, so we're getting him a birthday cake, and ice cream. I gotta figure out what kind of present we can get him on no notice. His favorite ice cream happens to be mint-chocolate-chip. One of the few kinds that I can eat, and actually like! SCORE!

And now I'm remembering what else I get to do next week. Dr Marzouk is going to shove his camera up my nose and down my throat, yet again, on Wednesday.
Oh, well, at least I will have noshed on pizza the day before!!!!

I've been beating myself silly yesterday and today, using the wood-chipper I bought last summer, but couldn't use. I was grossly in need of salt, and mentioned how I used to eat olives as "salt tablets". Ma said we had some. I looked in the fridge, but there were none. I looked in the pantry and, yep, just found a jar of them (with pits still in 'em) that's been there for over a year (since I could last eat 'em). I, of course, lacking teeth, can't yet eat them, so I pulled them out and took a knife and my fingernails to them to strip the olive-flesh off the pits, sucked the salt from the pits, put the olive flesh in a jar, added yesterday's leftover mashed potatoes and chicken, then ground it all with my immersion blender.
Mmmm, yummy salty, olive-ey, creamy potato-ey, chicken-ey goodness! One thing this past year has taught me is to not take eating cheap food for granted. Not take eating at all for granted. I still want a damn rare Prime Rib. ETA: FOOD PORN!!!! Last edited by C2H5OH; 24th May 2020 at 06:30 PM.

Cheers on the pizza! - just since the shutdowns started we've started getting some frozen non-dairy pizzas (not really up for the dairy kind) and it's only an echo of the genius that is pizza, but it's a comfort nonetheless.

I missed this but I had my brother and an old friend over and we start outside for 5.5 hours and drank a lot of beer, talked and grilled some hot dogs. It was a good afternoon.

I've replenished my beer supply. 12 pack Smithwicks and 3 sixes of Purple Monkey. Dinner is a 5 Guys Bacon Cheeseburger with sauteed onions & mushrooms and lots of great fries.
My wife picked up 3 bottles of White wine.

Didn't see this until now, but as luck would have it I was in fact eating sausage pizza (cold, leftover, straight from the fridge) around 4ish.
I guess that means I'm obligated to crack a  or three also. Oh, the hardship!

Pizza is done, everyone is happy. Especially me! We all properly maintained our distance. As can be seen, here, both groups kept proper distance. Our friends and their kids stayed on their side, we stayed on ours. Everyone noshed pizza, and my gut is happy. Hell, their new dog stayed on their side, well, so even the new puppy is doing fine.
