a DTP for mr buff

It's amazing just how bad and how good life can be at the very same time. Some things are going great for me, some things have to be put on hold for a frustratingly long time, and some things are just sad. My biggest sadness? Mr Buff died somewhat unexpectedly this morning. I've made his funerary arrangements (yes, srsly, don't judge me), gone to work for 7 hours, and done some serious grocery shopping afterward. At this point, by god, I need a drink and some friends. So let's forget the sadness, and celebrate how many things were and are good. Mr buff was a great kitty, always there with snuggles and sweetness, and he lived far longer and happier than anyone expected him to. Even people who didn't like cats liked mr buff, because he was just that cool. I already miss him terribly, but I'm just glad he ever came around in the first place. Cheers to you, mr buff, ya party animal.

Sorry about your cat.

My daughter found a dead seagull on the basketball court yesterday. She looked down thoughtfully for a moment and I waited to see her reaction. Eventually she looked at me and shrugged and then ran off to play on the swings.

I'm not sure who's teaching who around here.

I swear the other cat is decidedly pleased about this situation. That's fine, because it's netting me extra snuggles from him. And dammit, I sure do love kittenlove.

There are cats, and then there are cats. It sounds like Mr. Buff was a cat. I shall raise a glass to his memory.

Buff, I am named after a cat too... Grey Cloud was my first "real" pet. I miss that cat, and she has been gone probably close to 25 years

I like most cats well enough, but not that much. But there are some cats -- very few in my experience, but some -- who are just special. Sounds like yours was one of the good ones. I lift my glass (actually it's a bottle, but close enough) to him. Sorry for your loss, Buttfabby.

Sorry about your kitty, Buffy. I still miss Simon(another cat), and he's been gone for almost a year.

What is the other one's name?

That was dangerously close to a hug, solfy.

I'll forgive you this time, but only 'cause it's you.

Waaaay ahead of you, sugarbritches.

Ex-boyfriend (ex as of just last Monday, actually--what a week) was kind enough to take me out to dinner tonight and let me cry on his shoulder a bit. My spirits have been raised a bit. But of course, I've been raising the spirits a bit myself as well, which helps.

Apologies for not commiserating with you buff, I've been walking entirely too damn much and helping my daughter fiddle with experiments, score some awesome swag, and getting her face on a satellite.

Glad to hear that you have a cat to help you through your troubled time (or usurp, as the case may be).

*raises glass of milk for Mr. Buff*

I thought milk would be appropriate for a kitty. So sorry for your loss, bufftabby.

Whatever form they take, the rites are an important part of dealing with grief for a friend.
