Before I say anything else, let me remind TVeblen that it has been brought to my attention that her sole aspiration is apparently to purge the land of every non-lousy person, gene, idea, and influence. While this is undoubtedly true, there is a format she should follow for her next literary endeavor. It involves a topic sentence and supporting facts. Somewhat seriously now...I think part of the reason The Pit is fairly slow is that folks puncture pretentious asses and discourage them from becoming even more aggravating. It's a weird kind of inoculation. (How was that for a spiffy metaphor, hmm?) There are a very few who relapse now and then but they get their asses handed to them when and where it happens.

That's my theory anyway, and I'll defend it stalwartly.

It sure beats the alternative.
