I pit TVeblen

Look, it's not enough that you broke the pit with your despicably soft and fluffy ways. It's not even enough for you to derail anything that even remotely resembles a spat with your campfires and your kumbayah obsession. But now you have to go and remove the only goddamn pitting we had and put it in GBB.

GODDAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Enough is enough! Stop veblifying our rant playground!

RAEG!!!!!

How dare you say that about our beloved Mod? She hardly works hard to keep this Pit the best Pit it can be. *has the vapours* I will not stand for this desecration of her lovely personality, and I demand that you retract your baseless and base allegations about the best Pit-Mod this board has ever had.

If you want better Pittings, then go forth and make them. Don't blame the poor TVeblen for your inadequacies!

Good day to you, sir madam.

I didn't desecrate her lovely personality. She brought her own goddamn lovely personality to the role and she uses that in every decision she makes. THAT right there would be the problem. The insanity of moderating the incensed with sanity. HOW DARE SHE!

And don't blame Veb? The HELL?! People try! For the love of all that is holy we TRY. Spats are started, pittings are made - and she calms things down and moves pittings to GBB! What kind of lunacy is that?????????

There's going to be trouble over this.

Elyannas pitting of Radical Edward was rather lame. And your pitting of TVeblen's decision to move the thread out of the pit to GBB is even lamer.

The hell.

Pittings worth the name call people the offspring of syphilitic, warty street corner tarts and brain-damaged, camel-raping dwarves who are so repulsive Komodo dragons die after biting them. Good Pit threads have real grit and fire to 'em.

::crosses arms::

I'm sorry. We have standards. Okay, they're low but we've still got 'em.

TVeblen has had her say, and this is mine. Before I say anything else, let me remind TVeblen that it has been brought to my attention that her sole aspiration is apparently to purge the land of every non-lousy person, gene, idea, and influence. While this is undoubtedly true, there is a format she should follow for her next literary endeavor. It involves a topic sentence and supporting facts. The overbearing vigilantes that comprise her retinue are as thick as thieves. If one of them is willing to kill the goose bearing the golden egg, then they all are. What's more, none of them is able to accept that she's trying to hide the fact that she confuses entertainment with learning. Nevertheless, one thing that rings true with crystalline clarity is that it is more than a purely historical question to ask, "How did TVeblen's reign of terror start?" or even the more urgent question, "How might it end?". No, we must ask, "Why doesn't TVeblen try doing something constructive for once in her life?" To turn that question around, how will TVeblen's encomiasts react when they discover that TVeblen wants to take credit for others' accomplishments? I wish I had a lot more time to answer that question. Unfortunately, the following comment will have to suffice: TVeblen always looks the other way when one of her subalterns gets it in his head to dismantle national civil rights organizations by driving a wedge between the leaders and the rank-and-file members. Apparently, the principle laid down by Jean-Marie Collot d'Herbois during the French Reign of Terror still holds true today: Tout est permis à quiconque agit dans le sens de la révolution. In closing, I would rather die than remain silent in response to that which I am convinced is profoundly sullen.

Huzzah!

The pit is cursed and the name of the curse is TVEblen.
If these wicked ways are allowed to continue she will rise to lord over a mass of trembling members, while we are left broken, our only recourse being only to praise, hold hands and sing kumbaya with each other.

Maybe we should? She seems kinda sad. And that blunt knife Giraffe gave her isn't helping any.

I really tried, I did Veb. Certain nonnies are still wittering on about a few things I said to one of the few posters I felt strongly enough to say it to--then 7 showed me the way and the light and the ignore button and now I can't seem to raise an ire no matter how hard I try. Somewhat seriously now...I think part of the reason The Pit is fairly slow is that folks puncture pretentious asses and discourage them from becoming even more aggravating. It's a weird kind of inoculation. (How was that for a spiffy metaphor, hmm?) There are a very few who relapse now and then but they get their asses handed to them when and where it happens.

That's my theory anyway, and I'll defend it stalwartly.

It sure beats the alternative.

I'm with you, Veb, it's that whole ounce of prevention vs pound of cure thing. At the Durp, some trolly fool can go rampaging around the fora spreading retardedness and generating scads of ire but there's only one place you can call them on their bullshit to the extent that some of the clueless ones require in order to even know they been schooled, and if the fuckers stay outta the Pit it's impossible to do any goddamned thing about them. 'Round here we can slap 'em as soon as they get outta line no matter where they are so they never really get going on their schtick and the ones who put their heads down and insist on doing it anyway are so pitifully obvious nobody can take them seriously, it's like watching a cat try to cover up shit on a white tile floor. Sorry it makes your Pit so dull, but I really prefer this model to the Durp.
