Which will you watch: Super Bowl or Puppy Bowl?

We're having our Super Bowl potluck here at work, and the biggest topic of discussion is Super Bowl or Puppy Bowl.

I'm surprised how many people sided with the puppies. I thought I was the only one who was meh on football. But we were almost in the majority.

So which is it for you?

I'm glad you posted the question here and not in the Sports!Sports!Sports! forum.

There's less chance for butthurtedness.

Oh, and Superbowl here.

What's a Puppy Bowl? Besides someplace to pile the puppy chow, that is.

I've been a Colts fan since 1995.

Super Bowl. It's tradition! And I'm in a box pool. And I don't have cable.

I don't get that Puppy Bowl channel; never heard of it till today. I'm sure I'll have the Super Bowl on for at least part of it. But I have to admit I don't really care beyond watching large loud colorful objects smashing into each other at high speed. Kinda like NASCAR.

How dare you compare the NFL to NASCAR. You really need to examine what's important in life.

Neither, but if I had A) cable access and B) a large caliber handgun pointed at my head with a menacing individual demanding I choose--it'd be puppehs all the way!

I thought TVeblen and I had something going. If she can't watch watch the superbowl, I suppose it was doomed for failure.

Ooooh! I'm going to cancel my satellite subscription because I haven't even turned on a television for months. But I'd clean forgotten about the Puppy Bowl. I love that stupid thing. The 'play-by-play' cracks me up and watching the mini-woofers romp around, fall asleep in the water bowls, etc. is a hoot. It's hilarious if one of 'em ambles past the goal posts purely by chance.

Puppy Bowl, duh!

(Unfortunately the question is merely academic, as we killed our Dish Network account more than a year ago. Just DVDs and the occasional download for us.)

If I watch the Puppy Bowl, my puppyclock will start ticking very loudly, and I just can't get a new puppy right now.

So has the Superbowl always started in the evening? I don't generally watch it, but back in the late 80s/early 90s, I swear I remember it being earlier in the day when it was on. Or am I making that up? I just remember Superbowl parties hanging out with friends or family in the afternoon. Not likely I'd have gone out on a Sunday evening. Maybe it's pregame stuff I'm thinking of, though.

No cable, so no Puppy Bowl. I might actually turn on the Superbowl for a while, though, since I have a nice tv this year.

I couldn't give a shit about a professional sports thingy, but I'm getting together with my brother, and I'm pretty sure the tv will be on the Super Bowl.

I did watch rugby with my girlfriend yesterday -- England vs. Wales. Much more exciting sport than NFL football.

Some exiting innovations for Puppy Bowl VI: aerial coverage from a blimp--with hamster pilots--and rabbit cheerleaders! The bunnies of course contain their enthusiasm masterfully, mostly just laying there and looking grumpy.

C'mon, the parody qualities are a hoot.
