Introducing Jerry Giraffe and Meziadin
Today I gave Miss Raffe a kiss on her forehead, and closed the lid on the box in which darkness will be her only companion until she reaches the household of Oxirane.
I hope she has a safe journey.

Looks like she'll be able to frolic in the snow...
 But don't worry, we have plenty of mittens, wool hats, hot toddies and leftover turkey...plus I stocked up on spiced rum and eggnog yesterday so she'll be fine!

She has wine and cheese (and crackers), and plenty of nutella.
She also memorized "The hitchhikers guide to the USA" the last month. She grabbed a towel, and said "Ok Jim,let's go!". Then she downed a bottle of whiskey, smoked a cigarette, applied deodorant, and settled down. She is a very brave girl.

Oh, that explains it. Read reports from various postal workers that they've been hearing terrified whimpers and scratching coming from an overseas package but it's always gone before they have a chance to investigate...

 Do not have Flickr anymore; no way to put a pic up, so you'll have to trust me on this.  I am saddened by the loss of Raffles, a fine ungulate.

We got 26" of snow last week, so I was hoping to get some pictures of her frolicking in the snow, but since we've had two days of rain and highs in the upper 40's (that's oF for us, 7 - 9oC for Jim), so now we have about 13" of mush...that's not gonna happen...but we're likely to get some snow before she heads out to the PNW, so we still have time...we're fitting her for Ravens gear - big game coming up Thursday night...

This makes me very happy. All those dark days in a box, and there she is, in the warmth, comfort and a loving family – and a x-mas tree! She LOVES that!
Miss Raffe, although she misbehaves at times, is generally well behaved, and I did tell her in STERN WORDS no less, to behave on her travels. Thank you Oxirane, your hospitality is truly appreciated. I am unsure if I included the rules, but she has probably charmed you already. Just to be safe though. - no Nutella after midnight (it causes incessant singing) - do not tickle/scratch her left foot sole before warning family pets (it causes her to emit a weird sound – she doesn’t mean to cause harm, she just can’t help herself). - She may sneak out for a smoke now and then, and she also likes coffee in the morning. Just ignore these nasty habits of her, she would never partake in such inside your house. I do hope she behaves – again, thank you for your hospitality. I am sure I , and maybe a Raffer or two, look forward to the tales and pictures of her US adventure. Again, and I can’t stress this enough – thank you! And please bear with her, ehm, odd habits. She likes kids and family pets though, and is pretty easy going.

One monkey named "Giraffe"* has been very interested when pictures of Miss Raffe are on the screen. We may have something brewing.
* "Giraffe" is the little stuffed guy some of you stinkers  sent along with flowers when my DH died. Yes, a monkey named "Giraffe". I'm open to name change suggestions.

 I am happy she still has a smile. Has she been behaving, all things considered. relatively well? I told her to behave before she went on her trip, but who knows what dark cold days in a box with only Nutella, Water, Whisky and the live CD "Saxon" The eagle has landed" can do to a relatively inexperienced Giraffe far away from home. You did not tickle her left foot right? I really hope she behaves well.

Hello Oxirane,
I wish to ask you if Miss Raffe is still behaving? I also want to ask if Miss Raffe has mentioned to you, whether she is pretty happy at her current domicile, or whether she has perhaps discussed with you, in a calm manner of of course, her desire to move on - and see other parts of the great country you inhabit. Could you do me a favor and ask her these questions? I do not expect an immediate answer, I know her well and sometimes she needs to, eh, sleep. But when she is sober, perhaps you could bring these questions forth? I do hope she has behaved, and not brought too many troubles towards your peaceful life. Kind regards, Jim

Let's see, Raffe goes to visit The Chilean Blob and neither are heard from again. Now Miss Raffe and Oxirane both are incommunicado.
It appears that Giraffe is only hosting this board so his family members can travel around the World ax murdering posters. It all makes since now. Jim you're lucky you kept her too liquored up to lift an ax.
