I have never been to a Del Taco before midnight and never sober. I appreciate the correction.

I would like to add

Fatburger - Kingburger with cheese grilled onions and a fried egg. (chili and/or bacon optional. When I was 16 I would get all of the above as a double, but now I'm pretty sure that would kill me )

This won't be added to the list but I went looking for Big Kahuna Burger and fell down a rabbit hole. Most links were now Chinese and Russian sites, but I found a link to Atomic Burger (UK) with lots of choices. See for yourself, if you have a minute. (The Cheech & Chong and Dr. Zachary Smith look tempting.)

We have probably hit the 256, but I am too tired to compile and count the new entries right now. If we went over, I will find a way to whittle them down. Probably either through capricious dictatorial fiat, or some kind of runoff round.

I'll advocate for some way to cut it to 256, either a play-in or capricious cuts. I already don't know 75% of the entrants, and 200 more entries from regional restaurants is going to make for some boring matchups

Cane's chicken fingers is listed twice.

A&W - Teen Burger

I'd opt for a play-in round to cut to 256. Plus some judicious editing. For example, Taco Bell has a variation of the Crunchwrap listed 3 times, McDonalds has the apple pie listed twice, etc.

I agree with our fishy friend. Don't make extra work for yourself, and I'd rather avoid a lackluster round 1 full of matchups that only the nominators know or care about.

Either that or worthy contenders get bounced early because of people rooting for the underdog, and other shenanigans.

I'll second the motion. I seriously doubt that a R1 matchup between Popeye's Chicken Sando and something from Del Taco would result in an upset, but I could see the Chik-fil-A sando losing to something from TOGOS (I'd vote for it) based on past practices.

I know it's a last minute entry (and probably won't make the final cut) but I forgot to nominate Quiznos. They've all but vanished from Oregon, but there's two locations close by, in Vancouver WA. I just drove past one of them yesterday.

Quiznos Chicken Carbonara
Quiznos Lobster Classic
Quiznos Spicy Monterrey
Quiznos Peppercorn Steak
Quiznos Ultimate Turkey Club

Another dumb question: what about Costco's Rotisserie Chicken?

I'll leave out the other food court items. I mean, who really wants a hot dog for a buck-fittynine?

Actually, I was pretty sure we wouldn't hit 512, but thought the challenge to do so would get a few more noms brought up to spice up the play-in round.

I'd opt for a play-in round to cut to 256. Plus some judicious editing. For example, Taco Bell has a variation of the Crunchwrap listed 3 times, McDonalds has the apple pie listed twice, etc.
They also have multiple burritos listed, and other places have multiple burgers, what's your point? Crunchwrap is just a specific TB style of burrito wrap. (Although depending on how the play-ins go, I may combine the 2 breakfast Crunchwraps to a single entry. That will also affect whether I combine the original fried McD's apple pie with the inferior current baked apple pie. And some others, like the Big Mac/Double Big Mac. Some I am currently not considering combining, but will look at them again if anyone has a specific concern.)

Also, I haven't been to Sonic more than a couple of times, but none of its mains are good enough to nominate? Really?

Eh, I would not willingly order a burger from sonic, but I'll nominate their version of a Chicago dog.

Also their quarter pound foot long chili dog.

We should have some hot dog options.

Did tots get nominated already?

Oh what about a soft pretzel from Wawa?

What about the EVERYTHING soft pretzel twist from Wawa?

Any other spots just fully missing?

Probably need Jollibee and Yoshinoia
Weinerschitzel?

Is Panda Express fast food?!
Someone got nominations there?

Panda Express doesn't even qualify as "food," much less "fast food." Ditto Jollibee and Yoshinoya.

Raising Canes is also listed as 'Canes.

My personal opinion is that lumping is necessary and good when the variations are minor. Otherwise things degenerate into "that version is inferior because it has one too few pickle slices on it" and nonsense like that. Do we really want to have to wade through

Weinerschnitzel

chili dog
chili dog with mustard
chili dog with onions
chili dog with mustard and onions
etc?

Some small differences are inconsequential, others are subtle yet important. That line is mysterious and cannot be clearly defined. Therefore, the megapoll monster should unilaterally make such decisions so we can all complain and criticize.

This is good enough for me to put together some nominations

Panda Express
Orange chicken
Fried rice
Beef with Broccoli
Black pepper steak
Beijing Beef
Kung pao chicken
Black pepper chicken
Spring rolls
Chow mein

Yoshinoya
Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
Teriyaki Beef Bowl
Tokyo Fried Chicken Bowl

Jollibee
Fried Chicken
Chicken Tenders
Peach Mango Pie
Spicy Delux chicken sandwich
Delux Chicken Sandwich (for the non spicy crowd)
Fiesta Noodles
Pork Sausage
Jolly Spaghetti
Big Yumburger
Adobo Rice
Banana Langka Pie
Aloha Yumburger
Breakfast Chicken Joy

(Jollibee has a deep menu, I can't believe we almost forgot it. And, honestly, their chicken might be the best fast food chicken)

Quiznos Chicken Carbonara
Quiznos Lobster Classic
Quiznos Spicy Monterrey
Quiznos Peppercorn Steak
Quiznos Ultimate Turkey Club
Yuck!

The worst sub-shop chain.
Really? Worse than Subway? At least you're getting real food.

Subway has fresh baked bread, Quiznos has extra crappy bread. But hey both suck and I would rather have Wawa. Best large chain sub shop is the growing Jersey Mike's. They make a legit sub.

I am pretty cool on Jersey Mikes. They are ok, but not fantastic. I sort of like Firehouse Subs, but weirdly always leave them feeling like I didn't eat real food.

Subway is the only sandwich place I've been to where the bread literally fell apart as I was eating it. At least Jersey Mike's holds up after two days in the fridge. (Another place --- TOGOs --- bakes bread that gives your jaws a real workout.)

Does this poll include drinks? Because Sonic's Cherry Limeade is great

Shakes are making the list, so I'd think the Cherry Limeade is a good nomination.

Y'all just reminded me of something I like that I'd forgotten about. I think it's discontinued but the banana split from Sonic® was badass!!!!

I don't remember the restaurant, but at the Rockaway mall food court there was a place that had bourbon chicken. It's more than 20 years, so I don't remember the name of the restaurant.

Red Robin onion rings

Oh.

Orange Julius. The original. Even better with a raw egg, like I used to get at the mall in 198x.

And if we're doing donuts:

Cinnabon (classic)
Cinnabon with pecans

So if nominations effectively ended yonks ago that's fine but if not, I nominate:

Sonic Ultimate Meat & Cheese Breakfast Burrito

When Sonic in general came up I wanted to nominate this but was too lazy to look up its name and fashion a post before being at a real keyboard.

You might — I repeat, might — be able to find a better fast food breakfast burrito, but I dare you to find one this good that is available all day and comes with a side as good as Sonic's tater tots.
