Kso I am dealing with WTF is it with minor keys? It's a nice general question. An opportunity to write a short story or pithy reply. Let's go!

Minor keys are harder because there is so much more one can do with them harmonically than with major keys. This, I suppose, is why there are three minor scales, but dull old major has just one, I find minor music much more interesting than major music. Any old fool can whistle a happy tune. But brooding takes work. (Especially if you are a chicken.)

Minor music comes from contented fingers. Embrace the black keys!

I sing in the alto section of my city's choral society, but I've realized my range is more comfortably contralto. We don't have a contralto section so next term I might be a lady tenor.

We just sing for fun (well, we also raise money for bursaries) so it's not high pressure, which helps because I can't actually read music.

I was in a choir where I was put in the soprano section. I am not a soprano. It was painful. I would often find myself dropping an octave. Oops!

I am having a major (hehe) fight with the alto clef. The notes keep pretending to be on the normal, dog-given, correct and right clef and I get all baffled. NO E STRING! dammit

I play clarinet and ukulele and a few other instruments, and I work as a composer and music arranger.

I'd explain minor keys but I'm still a little sedated from a medical procedure at the moment. A minor medical procedure.

I've been playing guitar (off and on) for about 38 years. Nowhere near as good as I should be for that length of time. I peaked in my twenties. Such is also the case with my musical abilities.

Hahaha! No need, I have a plectrum that was used by one of my favourite musicians at one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Though I play the ukulele with my hands.

I tried to learn guitar a couple times (I most love the sound of a steel string but they sure hurt the fingers!) but never got any good at it.

a ukulele is just smaller, right? is it easier or harder to learn to play?

I haven't played much guitar.

I guess it depends on what you can do with the instrument. I've found there's a surprising amount of things you can do with the ukulele.
