........ if a person sleeps a lot, could he be called "sack-religious" (as in "hit the sack")?

Those are 'modals', used when an activity is named for the primary action, like swimming or running. Run and Swim are verbs, but running and swimming are nouns.

Speaking of sack religious, the sound of snoring being depicted as sounding like sawing wood is why they call it slumber.

A cop I know was keeping a list of things people said in court.
One man claimed he had been caused "defecation of character", which I kind of like, because defamation of character is when someone is talking shit about you, right? Another was explaining that the woman was not his legal wife, they were "co-hibernating". And the guy who hit a phone pole with his car and was "ejaculated from his vehicle". |
