A Wizards True Name - Night 3

Day 3 was progressing swimmingly, and the huddled cliques began assembling their opinions. By lunchtime it was decided that Colby11 was obviously confused about his name, and maybe not even a wizard, and that probably meant he was evil. By afternoon tea, he had been bludgeoned with a make shift hammer consisting of a a brick fine cheese duck-taped to length of pipe.

Colby11 aka Ark Windson, a Town Wizard, is dead.

Night 3 begins now and will end on 3/22/2015 @ 7pm EDT.

I think it's become obvious that not everyone has a twin. We've seen 4 different last names now. If there are 4 scum, (and where tf are they), they could all have a different last name. In the group of 6 Arks, there might only be 2 sets of twins.

So far we have 6 Arks, 6 Rips, and 4 Itos. I'm guessing that Visor has to be an Ito. I know that the other Itos are town. Does that mean that Visor is scum?

[/oog I do not understand how someone who has designed and moderated many games can intentionally sabotage another game. Messing up a Night action once may be understandable, but doing it a second time is simply anti-game and disrespectful towards the other players and moderator, good riddance.]

Lightfoot's pair could have been Colby, I don't think Lightfoot should investigate Gnarly if there's a Rip who needs to investigate him.

I agree that Visor is likely an Ito, and very likely scum, but hey, actions, words and intentions don't seem to be indicative of alignment in this game...

I suggest Chaos should investigate within the Rip group, and leave Visor for Lightfoot, for example.

except that he was town... and blatant anti-town behavior isn't his scum play nor is it for most players. your examples seem quite well thought out. are you scum by any chance?

it makes sense - to me- if a player is going to investigate out of their clique {ie all pairs are attempted} that it be someone they find suspicious

I think that would decrease the odds of one player orchestrating?

Eliminate my suggestions, Lightfoot, since they seem to be causing more confusion than anything.

Dizzy, most of the Rips still have 2 unmatched? I think we should try to get both of those matches done tonight. Your method of crossing eliminates only 1 match. That's why I would prefer Guiri's method.

I can't believe Colby was Town. From his death comment, I guess he just didn't have time to pay attention to the game, but still. That's fucked up.

As for the investigations, I'm more comfortable with guiri setting the list than TexCat or Dizzymrslizzy. I have the strongest Town lean on guiri given her N0 breadcrumb, so her choosing investigations reduces the odds that scum are manipulating it to hide themselves. Barring any changes, I'll plan to investigate Dizzy. (I'll wait to submit my PM until tomorrow in case someone has an argument for a different order that makes sense.)

I understand that he was Town; I'm disagreeing with your assertion that a clue as broad as "Bruce" has any substantial meaning.

Those examples took 5 minutes total, resulting from googling Bruce + ark/Ito/rip. Which was my whole point, that a broad clue like that can easily be turned to mean just about anything.

In this case, yes, we see now that he was Town, but there was no way to know that at the time, even with a crumb like "Bruce". You say that vague crumb was indicative of his Townieness, but I'd add that vagueness to his list of mis-steps.

Yes, I'm an Ito. I got a no result on Scathach and a no result on texcat night 1. Both claimed Ito so I scanned them. If I messed up someone's investigation, I'm sorry, I haven't being paying very close attention to this game, I missed most of the first day, and I just haven't bothered posting much as I feel completely out of the game as I missed most of the discussion.

It occurs to me that there doesn't have to be a perfect match with players, with so many possible detectives, surely it could be possible to put in a 'godfather' whose name simply isn't completely duplicated.

I've already scanned Scathach and got a no result, I'd prefer not to waste any more time so if you have an alternate target it'd be good to hear it.
