Once you start arguing with the person in charge, even if you are right, you have already lost. It means you have recognized their authority, and that you agree to their rules, or their idea of what the enforcement of their rules is, at which point you are fucked.

In the case on this forum, it means arguing with a giant pantload that you are not also a giant pantload, at which point you are fucked.

On the Dope, of which this forum is obviously a bastard stepchild, it's far worse.

If a Mod makes a bad call, and you actually argue and win, you are fucked. Of course the chances of winning are slim to start, but even if you win, you lose. Because now you are basically arguing with somebody who has the power to ban you, punish you, or make your life less enjoyable.

And if you are doing that, you are fucked. There is something wrong with you. In reality, a Judge or cop or code enforcement fucking with you has real consequences, none of them good. Arguing is essential. But on a goddamn forum, any time spent on that shit means you are fucked.

Hell, just typing this shit out could mean I am fucked. At some point you realize the really interesting and free thinking people left long ago. And you are dealing with mostly fucked people, who like fucking with other people, because they have no life to discuss, or anything of value to share.

Pointing this out of course places one firmly in the same camp, so it seems hypocritical (or extremely funny) to mention it. It's a catch 22
