Who would've ever guessed that Dangerosa's idiot son would rather hang out at home than go with her and Super Daughter anywhere, even Disneyland?

We haven't gotten my son out for a family vacation since he was fourteen - and he made that one miserable. Part of it is school scheduling, part of it is that spending time with your parents is just about the worst. This year we are going to Disney with his sister and offered to let him bring a friend, pay for the friend, and they didn't even have to spend time with us. He still wants to hang out at home.

The rest of that post just makes me sad.

(Now, he'll spend time with my parents, possibly because they made a huge effort when he was little to spend time with him and take interest in his activities. If temperament or proximity make that difficult, don't be surprised when a teen doesn't play that game).

It sounds like they're the only family members who tried to make the effort.

Here is the issue we've run into with our seventeen year old. We have to meet him halfway on things, because in a year he will be able to move out and choose how much time he spends here. Now, I think I'll have him home for another year or two while he gets through a year of trade school and starts his career, but if we make life too difficult for him here, his brain is still immature enough to be stupid - move out without enough money and get into trouble. Plus we want him to feel like he has agency.

This is an account I've just created. I had two other accounts that he banned. This is what the complaint's about actually.

Let me just write things up here, while withholding the two other account names (which is the whole point). I had an old account, registered in November of 2014, which I used regularly, until my ex-girlfriend had access to my computer and read that I had written about my problems with her. She knew the website and knew I'm always on it, so I decided to just discard that old account and create a new one, which I did in February 2015. The same thing happened again, but with a different person, and I've recently abandoned that account and created a third, just a few days ago. Once that third account has been created, I received a message from Idle Thoughts (on the second account) asking me who the third account belong to. I said it belonged to someone else and asked him how he traced it to me, and he said he checked the IP address. I said this was an invasion of my privacy, and he said he thought I was a sock (never mind that my total number of posts on the first two accounts combined did not exceed 184, out of which less than 25 were new threads created over a year and a half, and never mind that I had not made a single post using the most recent account). What Idle Thoughts did was probably link up the accounts and ban me on socking basis; he banned my IP address. I am an extremely private person, and I prefer that no one I know personally sees my posts here or anywhere else. It's no one else's business. I had never at any point used two accounts simultaneously to make a post or comment or another; never behaved in any way that would make me a sock suspect. I prefer not to mention my old account names for this very reason: I don't want whoever gets access to my computer to read my posts. Idle Thoughts was extremely intrusive and a little bit creepy in the way he approached the matter. If I am contacted by an admin, I am ready to provide my old account names to prove everything I say (including the post about the ex-girlfriend, and everything else). Kindly look into this matter. Thanks.
