Well, will wonders never cease? New emails that weren't turned over to the State Department (after Hillary declared under penalty of perjury that all business related emails had indeed been turned over) that not only violate the ethics agreement she signed prior to becoming SOS but also indicate some pretty blatant "pay for play" demands along with more evidence of mishandling of sensitive documents and indications that Clinton and her staffers were quite aware of the insecurity of her email server. Multiple source links in the article.

Also, I'm getting addicted to Jimmy Dore's YouTube channel.
![]() ![]() The next segment in the interview is also pretty good. ![]() ![]() I'm also finding myself perplexed by the fact that the "liberals" in the Democratic party are actually hippie punching progressives WAY harder than the staunchest of right wing pundits. Bizarro world! |

Also, this is a damned good question. What sense does this "strategy" make--aside from carving out a comfy spot right down the center right middle of things to preserve the corporate oligarchy from "too many" congressional progressives?

Blaming it on Trump ignores the real issues--the GOP could have easily shut him down at any time but they didn't bother, and they could have just ignored his sorry ass and put someone else in at their convention but they didn't bother. He's not even all that rightwing--he supports reproductive rights, he's against NAFTA and TPP, he's irreligious and barely trying to make any attempt to woo evangelicals (but they're slobbering for him nonetheless) and aside from the casual racism he's basically NOTHING like the modern GOP as we know it. Pence is 100% GOP if you want to compare and contrast. Trump is an evil clown, a capering gibbon who keeps trying to give away the possible responsibilities of the presidency should he achieve it and he works almost as hard at alienating moderate Republicans as he does whipping up the batshit wing.
No, you can't blame Trump for this, this current bullshit situation has been brewing in the DNC for years just looking for a way out and Clinton is their savior. SHE is the one shoving that Overton window firmly rightwards as she determinedly courts the moderates in the Republican party and at the same time she's doing more hippie punching of the progressive wing of her ostensible party than Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity could even comprehend. Nope, we're watching a firm grab of that coveted middle slice of the cake and a firm "fuck off, losers" to anyone to the right or left of that middle right stance. |

You are right, of course, but Trump as a black hole would make a hell of political cartoon. I simply can't work up your level of outrage or skill at screed and editorializing. Arizona is now a potential swing state... "I expect it will all go as it has been going, that is to say badly." - EoR. Voting Blue in Arizona is like swimming upstream through sewage. Another story about the Clinton Foundation to hasten America's race to the bottom. Some of the comments are worth reading as well; look for David's comment comparing expenses vs. actual charitable contributions. The fact that Charity Navigator can't evaluate them speaks volumes.

A quick google of Trump + FBI only brings up yesterday's announcement the FBI had been officially contacted by 'Hillary's people'.

MSN is reporting that the DNC chairman has warned Trump that if he doesn't start taking the campaign more seriously, the GOP will turn its attention away from him and focus on down-ticket races. This might not be good news for Clinton -- could she end up with a much more Republican Congress because the party focused on swing states like (shudder) Colorado?

Could be. Also, PAC money that might normally have gone for presidential ads might be spent on congressional races instead.
On the other hand: in the recent Kansas primary about a dozen pro-Brownback legislators lost. To what, I don't know, but there may be hope yet. |

I just popped over to Ladbroke's, the British betting site.
The are giving Hillary Seven-to-two. (You pay seven, they pay you two.) Trump is at eleven-to-four For number of state carried by Trump Zero is a longshot at Thirty-three-to-One I like Ten or Fewer at Ten-to-One I also like Hillary carries popular vote by more than 10% at One-to-Three. That is where you can make some money. Trump replaced as nominee at Five-to-One, which seems about right. Still I would put down a fiver. Linky ==ETA== Johnson is 150 to 1. Let us see the Libertarians put their money down. |

After disclosing their taxes, we find that: Of the the $1,042,000 the Clintons gave to charity as listed on their return, $1 million of that went to the Clinton Family Foundation. No doubt to be then spent by the Clinton Foundation on expenses such as hotels, air fares, dinners, etc. in service to... The Clinton Foundation. ::sigh:: |

OK So I fully expect reactions of pure disgust, because that's what i'm feeling too...but am I the only person secretly hoping that either or both of the candidates suffers a serious issue that prevents them from continuing?
Like, HRC's doctors come out and say she's unfit to carry on, or Trump has a heart attack or something from drug use...or both...and we have to pick new candidates? It's not like I want other people to suffer harm...but there's very obviously nothing else that could possibly remove them from the race. Well...Trump...I kind of do want him to suffer harm. Like, public humiliation type of harm. Have him up on stage doing his cripple impression again and mid-way through he has a stroke for real. I would enjoy watching that. I'm a piece of shit, I know. |

Yeah, that whole, "well, we didn't see any INTENT to do something illegal" bullshit is gonna come back to bite 'em in the ass next time a small time robber accidentally shoots the store clerk. They'll try to bring murder charges but what are they gonna do when he says "but I didn't INTEND to kill the guy or even to shoot him, the gun just went off oops so, just like Hillary, you can't pin this on me, copper!" Won't work but it's gonna tie the courts up like a junkies colon if it catches on in the criminal set--some Saul Goodman is gonna run with this, you just know it.

Just so everyone is clear: the meme that Hillary Clinton has some kind of ~undisclosed medical condition~ is a deliberate Trumpist rumor-mill product. It is purely cynical partisan bullshit lies. Think what you will of her, but if you help pass this meme along, you are a tool.

If I'm trying to push anything...it's more to push this ridiculous shit out into the open.
I would like to hear HRC offer up an explanation for such crazy attire, but it's certainly not of primary importance. I just think it would make for a hilarious interview question. Our political landscape is absolutely borked. No decorum, no respect. It's a shame. |
#137

The "crazy attire" could be because she goes from air-conditioned airplanes to air-conditioned venues.
Plus, she's not a slim gal. She's going to dress to cover up, to hide the thick parts. Speaking of fashion, what is it with TV women and bare arms lately? Even locally, it's bare arms, no matter the season. |

Heh, yeah no shit. And the rest of us are also allowed to go "Weird to wear winter clothing in 80 degree heat no?" Because that is objectively weird. Outside in August with a wool coat on...and I say "Hmmm, odd. I bet that gets the rumor mill going!" and guess what, it did.
Anyway, I thought this was nifty: Libertarian does a not very libertarian thing I'm curious to see if Johnson will pick up enough steam to make the debate stage. I strongly strongly doubt he'll be able to offer serious competition to the two bright shining stars, but hey...three's company! It would be nice to have someone else to talk about in a serious way besides which of the diptards is worse and in which way they're worse than they other for once. |

Even if it IS wool, there are different weights, and if it's lightweight and lined with something cool, like silk, it's not going to be all that hot. Wool wicks sweat. Insulators work both ways -- it might keep her more cool than if she'd worn light cotton. Trump's people are making a big mistake with this, especially with that fake-ass letter from Trump's "doctor". He couldn't get a real doctor to write a real letter? |

Why is that not Libertarian? The main reason for government is to protect the common good. A carbon tax seems like a very Libertarian way of regulating emissions.

But wouldn't his supporters be more likely to villify her on what she intends to do once she's in office? Good lord it is truly depressing that Jon Stewart ain't around for this cycle ![]() |
